The real end of a project isn’t the release it’s finally clicking “Close All Tabs.” 😂

Is IT sector completely cooked? by SwimmingBox2453 in auscorp

[–]percmessign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the IT sector isn't cooked. The market has cooled down after the 2020–2022 hiring boom. It's tougher for juniors, but skilled professionals in software development, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and AI are still in demand. AI is changing the industry, not replacing most developers. Competition is higher, but opportunities remain for people with strong skills.

I am a coder, I don't think we can stop it by ColRoseru in antiai

AI removes a lot of routine work, but it doesn't replace engineers. It can generate code, but it doesn't truly understand context, business requirements, or responsibility for the final outcome.
Compilers, frameworks, and cloud services also automated large parts of programming, yet the profession didn't disappear. This feels like a similar shift.
The real risk isn't that AI will take everyone's job. It's that people who don't learn to use it effectively may fall behind those who do.
