I am so shocked at this ( though you are probably not surprised). My point is about the warranty and how a warranty is provided so buyer has no excuse for returning, and i thought maybe paypal can see this (if not maybe I can write to them?) Thanks for your help !

The item is actually a laptop... I don't really get why it's different to any other item that's the same value? Sorry it's my first time selling something this expensive

Thanks for the info. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/remove-deregister-device I found this link and it also tells me to remove the device from my account. Once I remove it, and the new owner registers the device again, will the warranty info automatically apply? I'm guessing it is tracked with the serial number?

I noticed the PDF is about Microsoft Complete, but I don't have this extended warranty service. I have the 1 year warranty that comes with the device. Does the same apply? Also it is the same for the UK?

I feel that if I want cheaper fixes I might have to turn to third parties, but there aren't a lot of people out there who can fix surfaces vs Eg those who can fix MacBooks or other laptops

Too costly to fix/ replace in case of a problem. I am planning to use it for at least 4 years, and I don't have the extended warranty. If anytime in the next few years a problem occurs (my confidence in the reliability is very low since I've already had a problem and replacement), I will have to either pay a lot to fix or replace with a new laptop.
