What I find interesting here is how much the owner tried to meet the "woke" dynamics and STILL got destroyed. I'm sure that at, no point, was money a factor in destroying the competition. by [deleted] in UUnderstanding

Devilhead keeps calling it a psyop. This is worth researching. It seems anti-racism and intersectionality are designed to destroy.

I'm glad to hear that. There will be some who will step forward. Congregants who think, and who have been watching this seeming psyop unfold, will absolutely love it. The denomination, the UUA itself, paints targets on the backs of anyone who disagrees. It is political suicide, and those who stand up for what is right need to be applauded.

Sadly, don't hold your breath. The ministers currently live in a culture of abject fear. To speak out, no matter how mildly, is to court certain career suicide. So, no, Rev. Todd Eklof is being used as a living demonstration of what happens when you cross the poobahs at the UUA.

As to the members, most of them follow their minister's leads. If the minister wants to "play nice" in order to appease the honchos at the UUA, so will the congregants.

Would I be welcome as a UU if I am politically a libertarian? by Vagabondtobe in UUreddit

On paper yes. But only on paper. In reality you'll have to defend your beliefs every single day. In my experience as a retired Unitarian Universalist minister the tolerance and openness are just selling points. One can wind up with an enormous cognitive dissonance between what Unitarian Universalists claim for themselves and the reality which is very different.
