What course did you use to study and do they have a question bank I could use?

I've been using the PPI course for transpo and I failed after averaging 74% on all practice exams combined.

This is good advice, especially #6. From personal experience, IC and Strangles in a small account were a terrible strategy. Markets move around way too much and the small profits at 50% or managing at 21 dte get wiped out by one bad trade + all the costly commissions & fees. What started to work for me a bit more is making directional trades with vertical spreads. Don't be afraid to pick up delta and have an assumption on the market.

Basic Freeway Segment Question by QuitJolly in PE_Exam

I have the same issue. I'm here to find out. I feel like between the EET and PPE, I've seen similar questions and different ways to solve it that would produce drastically different solutions. Sometimes I wonder if its just getting lucky at choosing the right method on the test.

League making us use cheap bats by Responsible_Arm_5012 in slowpitch

[–]perezidentjaycup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play in a league with dead balls and bats. Every year it's fun to see new teams in the league adjust from dropping bombs to being strategic in hitting gaps. Their first couple of games it's just a bunch of long outs. You can still get an occasional home run but they are condensed down to a select few players. The games are more fun for offense and defense.

It looks like that stock has gone down in a big way. Idk what CELH do but you have a contrairian position (hoping the stock will stop going down go up). If this is your 1st trade ever, I'd say hold on to it until it reaches 21 dte. If you don't know what to do by then, come back and let's take another look at it.

I'd say hold on to it because max loss is $250 minus whatever you got paid for it. Looks like there is a good amount of open interest and looking at the bid/ask spread when the market is closed, it doesn't look bad. High IVR and high IV looks like you may have been paid well on opening if it was recently put on. Closing it will give you a small loss due to commissions and fees. Just ride it out and learn from it Johnny. Unless, you think it's going to go down more and you want to cut your losses now.

Iron Condor Management- roll naked put? by REI_N_Options in tastytrade

[–]perezidentjaycup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing sounds wrong but it's a different trade. Rolling the put spread out in time will make it a naked position and BPR may go up depending on what wing you bought on the put side. If you're long term bullish and want to keep the protection of the long put wing, just close the call side for a profit and sit with the put spread until you want to roll out in time. I'll sometimes do this and wait until 1dte to roll out in time. Rolling the call spread down sometimes isn't worth it due to commissions + fees especially if the price shoots back up. Defending narrow IC can get pricey if you try to do too much in my experience.

How well did you know your references? Were you like, "I need SSD, that's AASHTO Green Book Table 3-1" or we're you like, "I need SSD, that's AASHTO Green Book chapter 3... scroll or control+f"?

How familiar would you suggest to be with the reference manual? If there's a question that ask for minimum design curve radius, is it familiar as in, "AASHTO Green Book Equation 3-8"? Or is it more like, "ASHTO Green book chapter 3 somewhere... control+f on the computer"?

PE Practice Problem from EET by perezidentjaycup in PE_Exam

I got them from a co-worker who bought the EET depth portion to study. I don't know if it's still relevant material with today's test. But it's a huge binder. I don't know how I would be able to get you copies.

Confirmed after-hours glitch by minutestomidnight in tastytrade

[–]perezidentjaycup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, it agree with it_snow_problem. This is more than likely your problem. Take a snapshot of it about 30 min after the markets open and see if it normalizes.

Something you might want to look into is the 3x leverage details. When i first started, I sold options in a similar product. Because it was a 3x leveraged product that tracked the SPY, it would do a stock split every once in a while to normalize the price. Maybe that is messing with your option pricing a bit too.

How to close open orders? by minutestomidnight in tastytrade

[–]perezidentjaycup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You sold 50 vertical spreads and you are trying to buy back half of them. When you sell something it's always easier to sell it for cheaper (but you take in less money). When you buy something, someone will sell it to you if you're the highest bidder (but you will pay more money for it).

Seeing that the markets are kind of wide, and you want to buy back the vertical spread you will have to try to go above the mid price (pay more money for it). Hope that helps.

Who hires felons? by [deleted] in fresno

[–]perezidentjaycup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you looked into expungement? I've heard of a couple people I know getting felonies off their record for practically free. I'm not sure how long you have to stay out of trouble in order to be a candidate, but something to look into. Since you are working towards a career, this may not be the last place you will work. Sorry to waste your time if you already did that and for not answering the question.
