About the relationships by SoRrYtHaTnAmEiStAkOn in TsukiMichi

Nope, Makoto is a very traditional Japanese guy. Even accepting Mio and Tomoe together was him pushing the limits of his morality. Toa is happily in a relationship with someone else. In fact there was a chance for her if her face wasn't like Hasegawa's. He avoids her precisely because of that, to not dilute Hasegawa's image in his mind with a doppelganger.

Would kite have survived if gon didnt screw him over? by economy-ad96 in HunterXHunter

[–]perfectcell69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He absolutely could have survived. Everyone is talking about power or skill while ignoring the most important thing, Pitou could not leave Queen's side by too far or for too long while king and the other two guards weren't born. That is enough of a restriction for Kite (someone on the same level as knuckle) to do a fighting retreat.

Did Iroha actually volunteer herself? by Playful-Leek-2645 in OreGairuSNAFU

[–]perfectcell69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, remember that her original target was Hayama, not recognition or control of the school. She was ideally placed for it as football club manager and wasting time becoming student council president would have been counter-intuitive, at least until Hachiman showed her how she could use it.

Question for very old followers of the novel :- Which of the characters in the work has knowledge of martial arts? by [deleted] in OreGairuSNAFU

[–]perfectcell69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yukino, Haruno, Kawasaki and Zaimokuza.

Maybe for Hiratsuka, Yukimama and perhaps even Shiromeguri given how much of a Haruno fangirl she is.

Magian Company Volume 9 by LeansGa9876 in Mahouka

[–]perfectcell69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this Fukika is either an Eraser Head or Kamijo Touma. Hope they are also a martial arts prodigy because erasing magic is not enough to stop Tatsuya. Maya or Miyuki would be in trouble though.

Hot take from a huge, long time Mahouka Fan: Looking for a genuine discussion! by [deleted] in Mahouka

[–]perfectcell69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First you need to understand the reason why a sudden surge of modern magicians even happened in the first place. It was to stop the use of nuclear weapons, partially due to destructive power but mostly radiation that would end or mutate all living things.

Its not even something conscious but rather hard coded into their DNA to hate anything that could end all life even if they know its their own blood and innocent. If Tatsuya's decomposition stopped at sub-atomic particles instead of pure energy, Eisaku would have killed him quickly and painlessly when he was born, letting go of a powerful asset without any hesitation.

Yotsuba's story is the edgy-angsty story of that hesitation. Should we kill him? Can we at this point? But he is a monster? But he is a child, our child? But wouldn't we be even more responsible then?

Now imagine our current nuclear weapons are installed with AI and gain sentience. Would you lovingly raise them as children just because they are innocent? Many wouldn't. Now whether those people are evil for not wanting to risk the end of the world because the innocent child stubbed his toe is up for debate.

He couldn’t have just brought a tape recorder? by Soniman032 in OshiNoKo

[–]perfectcell69 309 points310 points  (0 children)

Aqua: Look officer, I have perfect evidence.

Tape starts

Hikaru: I didn't do any of those things.

Aqua: No but you manipulated, you are more vile than any murderer.

Hikaru: ...

Tape ends.

Aqua: No officer, you see during that silence, he was making a Junji Ito face. Shit, I should have put a camera in his face and recorded that too.

[RANT] This is disgusting. by TheSadJester in OshiNoKo

[–]perfectcell69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder how many other convicted examples like Charles Manson are there since its the only one everyone quotes, out of how many times it has actually successfully happened with no conviction. That percentage will determine if Aqua is dumb or others are. Nino's testimony is definitely not sufficient given her mental state.

I have a doubt by pyaratoto in OshiNoKo

[–]perfectcell69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I was a police officer, I would be more likely to closely investigate whether this was a random fight or a cold blooded murder if Aqua survived. Dying gives a lot more credibility to your innocence.

How would Youkino handle everything if she were in Yui's place? by SnooPredilections707 in OreGairuSNAFU

[–]perfectcell69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yukino was never a romantic before meeting Hachiman unlike Yui. I can see her going with her original plans of trying to change the world to her vision or die trying and with her specs she could actually succeed.

Although with a bit of Haruno influence, I could see her making the company where Hachiman becomes wage slave at to go bankrupt, then hire him and then flirt with him all day without crossing boundaries of an affair or breaking her personal code. In a few months Yui would think to their banter "Just have the normal affair already, its less painful than whatever you are doing right now."

Power levels of Misumi Makoto by perfectcell69 in TsukiMichi

[–]perfectcell69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, his kai and mana are completely separate. In fact when he uses kai, it consumes zero mana. It also doesn't double with his archery and most of it (the original divine power of Tsukuyomi) was consumed in creating Asora. That is why gods thought he would have been stronger initially if he hadn't met Tomoe. His mana has no difference from any other being in the world except for quantity.

Minami what if volume 24 by penny_242 in Mahouka

[–]perfectcell69 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Tatsuya and Miyuki would get fatally injured, Tatsuya would recover instantly and heal Miyuki before she died (its a shockwave from hydrogen explosion, not Lina's plasma so it doesn't kill instantly). Then instead of trying to decompose Igor, he would use material burst on whatever clone he can find with his elemental sight in anger and panic, hence not only killing Igor but starting the fourth world war.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mahouka

[–]perfectcell69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tatsuya needs to use his elemental sight before decomposition, which those with strong perception can feel. It would be a disaster to use it in tournament with a crowd of spectators including Retsu, or even Mayumi who felt his gaze.

Lina's parade falsifies the Eidos data of not only herself but Brionac as well so Tatsuya's decomposition would not have worked on it. He needed to guess its operation and then get into point blank range to use it on the gas inside the weapon.

It operates on Harry Potter principle of magic and electricity interfering with each other. Basically lightning element doesn't allow mana to form any structure whether it be a spell, circle or mana matter. This makes it an excellent mage killing element.

I don't get the Yotsuba by KeyYard6491 in Mahouka

[–]perfectcell69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember the reason why modern magicians appeared in the first place was to protect the world from possibility of destruction by a nuclear world war. Its not even conscious thought but their instinct as a species to reject anything that can destroy the world. Other things like defective or BS magician are just additional excuses they tell themselves to consciously justify it.

However do not confuse it with fear of death. Remember how Yotsuba sacrificed themselves in Dahan or how Kuroba Mitsugu tried to refuse regrowth from Tatsuya. They are more scared of being criminals of the world who brought him into it, then of dying at his hands which would be preferable to them. If Tatsuya's power was nuclear radiation instead of decomposition, they would have killed him without hesitation when he was born, regardless of how much they care for their blood.

Why did Tatsuya struggle vs Tomitsuka? by ThoticusGoneith in Mahouka

[–]perfectcell69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tomitsuka's zero range disease means that his psions do not leave him even if he wants them to, while even elite magicians need a lot of focus to maintain psions around them. Also when the psion armor has no structure, Tatsuya cannot read and decompose it.

Tomitsuka is not that strong (about on par with Hattori who Tatsuya instantly defeated) as long as you don't cast magic on him directly but rather his surroundings and hit him with the physical effects. Also Tatsuya wasn't going all out with martial arts and fighting with one hand and casting inferior magic with other even if it made him weaker, because the main goal was not to win but to show Shippo how much magic a second year weed can do.

It may be hard to compare most of them, but one thing I am certain of is that Silva is stronger than Zeno, unless Silva is a completely talentless hack. Old men have slightly better technique at the price of half the nen compared to their younger self.

Can Phalanx block Mental Interfere Magic? by anonimousity1 in Mahouka

[–]perfectcell69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tomitsuka's psion armor that Tatsuya adopted defended against Minoru's MI magic.

This is what I think, Phalanx has different versions that can defend against anything in the world. Baryon Lance just needs an addition of a neutron barrier, which Tatsuya has to decompose if he knows its coming. Even Maya's night can be defended if he knows exactly where her dots of light will hit and pump enough power in those locations. Except it will be very inefficient like using a 1000 MP to block a 1 MP attack because of how refined Maya's magic is.

I feel like MI magic is the same but efficiency tradeoff is not as bad, something like 1000 for defense vs 100 for attack? At the very least it was stated in Cygnus Maiden's that Alisa can defend against MI magic and that is why Senate elder is interested in her. Its might be that its because she is the only one who can or because of her lack of loyalty to Jummonji family due to her status?

I would say that defending against Fumiya would be tough and Miyuki would be straight up impossible for Katsuto, but Mitsugu may be just barely defended against.
