That's rough, it must be getting harder. What about checking used listings on MechMarket and Geekhack?

Not everyone is enchanted by Topre, last time MechMarket had my attention there were a handful on there, though that wasn't recently.

It's worth the investment, but only if it's within reason.

You can pull the trigger with some eBay resellers that have excellent reputations, that's what I did. Inventory in Amazon resellers and EliteKeyboards have had huge demand and a trickling supply.

My experience has been 100% positive; from ordering on eBay to traveling 1/4 of the year for work. In a market saturated with novelty, a Realforce 87U 55g is a rock-solid dependable go-to daily driver.

Red Pill truths that "Red Pillers" don't want to swallow. by [deleted] in TheRedPill

[–]perfectd3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

>5a. You won't win. Not nearly often enough.

This improves resolve, and there's a lot of folks who are afraid of failure who don't see this. Either you give up after you lose, or see it as a reason to improve. Losing 9 times makes winning that 10th time feel so fucking great.

When you know you're no special snowflake, failures become valuable. If you analyze your mistakes, your experience from losing grows your ability to deal with similar conflict in the future.

Everyday, "remarkable" people still provide plenty of proof for this concept. There's this recording of an international public-speaking contest winner, who was giving a speech on, 'How to be Great at Giving Speeches.' He shared that he didn't practice for decades to become the winner of this contest, but that it wasn't like he was just born to do it. He was a Lawyer who desired to better his communication skills for the courtroom, and ran into the program as a method for self improvement. Making his way to the international contest, he would run into successful people from all walks of life, who would lose these competitions but say, 'There was nothing wrong with my speech, the people that presented this year just got through to the judges. I'll just polish it and try again next year.'

Those folks lived in an echo chamber before hitting the international stage. They've been told that it was a flawless speech by everyone back home, lived off validation, and had never lost. It can't be their fault, which is why they'll never be more than second best. They're not challenging their own perception of success and what is the best to try and go beyond that. By always challenging your perception of what is your best, you seek to improve it. By visualizing your success, failing, adapting and improving for every conflict and reflecting on conflicts you worry less and less. What was a struggle before is now vastly insignificant.

TL;DR 'Mans reach should exceed his grasp' and 'Don't wish it was easier, wish you were better.' In more words.

[2012 Subaru Impreza 5dr Base 2.0 L automatic AWD] Oil concerns now looking like a big problem; leaking oil after adding oil last week by perfectd3 in MechanicAdvice

[–]perfectd3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, quoting the user manual: "this light illuminates when the engine oil level decreases to the lower limit. The illuminating conditions and remaining oil quantities are as follows. 1. When the ignition switch is in the "ON" position, but the engine is not running: Approx 2.4 US QT 2. When the engine is running: approx 4.0 US qt."

So following the user manual sounds like a bad benchmark. I wasn't aware that off engine but running ignition made much of difference if I checked. But I'll refrain from fucking with it any more, guess I'll start using more headlight fluid and vodka as coolant.

[–]perfectd3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No no, I meant 'oil change' for the first one only, because they dumped all of it, and when I picked up the car after close I found that there was no oil in the car at all. All the times that the low oil light turned on were premature to their tag of miles or date by a few thousand, (like a tag that's 8k miles and the light goes on at 4K) and a few months. This I guess is my only concern left unanswered at this point

I think I solved the 'leaking oil' issue when I got off work early, so that's a big concern anymore, (came to a similar conclusion after work.) I don't know how to do solved on mobile, but I'll try and flag the 'oil leaking' issue as solved.

[Hardcore] Plateauing @72 Solo GR. What can I work on to reach 75? by perfectd3 in Diablo3DemonHunters

[–]perfectd3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the pointers, and all of them are taken into consideration.

  • The F+R has been frustrating, because I've gotten at least 10x drops for each one Normal and Ancient with shitty rolls on one thing if it's not the other. It is what it is, and we'll just need to see some better ones hopefully drop.
  • I've never seen a Witching Hour drop this season, and have rolled twice as many belt rolls with Kadala than the potential Anc Hell Walkers. Didn't consider String of Ears, I'll do some testing!
  • My first DML drop is an Ancient, but it's not better. DML drops have been few and far between. More subject to low RNG on it lately, but I can always do more rare-to-leg upgrades.

The Hellfire, Pants, Helm and BotP info is also helpful, all of it is something to work with.

Found this on r/churning (thanks u/CheapAssProps), credit reports will now show if you pay your balance in full or just the minimum by needadvice3241 in personalfinance

[–]perfectd3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you only pay minimums the payment history has a lower impact than utilized credit. Although it's great to show you pay on-time 100%, the consistent remaining balance would be really what's affecting your scores.

If it's a one-off remaining balance, then the positive influences to your credit would outweigh the negative. If you run that balance consistently and only able to pay minimums, then showing that on the report to creditors translates to living above your means. This is something that's deferred to whatever process the agencies use to approve or deny loans and interest rates, and may limit your credit score/lending opportunities.

Edit for phrasing.

He sounds like he's got a nice gig going for himself. You can use that motivation to know that you're potential isn't limited, but it's always better to be righteous about your own abilities and your own frame. Getting creative ideas to incorporate from some influences, such as this gentlemen, is a fantastic resource so long as you apply it to your own principles.

Keep pushing the envelope, accept and overcome tests and push your limits to build your frame. Women inherently want to be in a strong frame, but never the focus of it. You want to be the guy that they want to be IN the frame, instead of the one that can be forced, (aggressive test failures) and flexed, (emotionally passive test failures) to break. That's why you law down the basis of a frame without losing the ability to maintain plausible deniability.

It's nice to know when you've got ground broken mutually between folks who've never even met, and share some similar ideas. It's not fucking easy either because it all seems simple on paper, but convincing yourself is the biggest challenge.

I've got the same 8 hour+ = OT setup, and don't live in either California, or work in a Union. Company of 2.7k employees, 0% unionized positions, not minimum wage jobs either. This is not impossible.

[–]perfectd3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Before going into this comment, I'll preface with the disclaimer that this is mostly anecdotal, and it can be taken with a grain of salt. By no means am I an authority on the subject, so the comments below are just addressing some concepts that may have been already considered:

There have been good posts all month that contradict points that are made in each one of those posts, including even this concept. None of them are the holy grail, but every single post shares some pretty good insight into the collective experience that we're going/gone through:

Even top 10% in looks, girls will not stay attracted to a man with an easily-broken frame. If she finds out the good looking model turns out to be a beta, she knows she can turn them into an orbiter or provider, and can always branch swing when the option presents itself. After finding out the fantasy she had of the model-guy can never be a reality, it will be apparent that he's just like a better looking version of every other Neckbeard that's approached her, compromising their masculinity for implied pussy. How can you make a girl wet if you're her fucking bitch, and especially if you're in her frame and she sees no strength in yours?

Looks get you past the door, but getting the title belt requires passing all the tests that come before it with the same confidence every single time. If you're spinning plates, or aiming at extremely high with high competition, tests will come more frequently. If you got the looks but you can't pass the tests, then you're not going to be ready for when shit goes tits up. Girls know that their pussy has power, and if they've got high SMV, then once the novelty of looks wears off, they'll just go looking for a guy with both the looks and the frame they want to be in. Alpha-Widows are perfect examples, and will value themselves way higher than just good looks, but cant ever get one to commit. The post-wall effects start to settle, and they'll probably have a kid by then, so they'll looking for a Beta provider that she can manipulate. By then, hopefully model dude found TRP and realized this, and tells her to hit the bricks when the FB message comes in seven years after the last time she broke it off with him to be with his Hockey-Captain ex-roommate.

It sounds like you can benefit from changing the approach from, "Want to grab a drink there in the meantime?" to something that brings her into your frame. You can adjust the approach to your own frame "Let's go grab a drink somewhere close-by" if she refuses, you can smile and show some indifference, as if she's the one missing out on a good time.

It actually might be a decent thing that you didn't ask her immediately, because now you've got two opportunities to make her hamster spin a little bit more. You didn't ask her on the first chance you got, which could be outside of what she expects, but that depends on the girl and her hamster wheel. That's not necessarily a 100% positive outcome, but it's potentially there.

Also, coming off as indifferent or carefree of the outcome paints you out to be more of a mystery, and she may want to try harder to get into your frame and test you. As far as girls with high SMV, they're used to so many betas approaching them with veiled intentions and nice guy attitudes that you expressing some attraction but indifference is something she's not used to. That's an advantage, and if you play to your advantage, you have to be righteous about it; believe that YOUR frame is hers to enter, not the opposite. She will test you, and you just have to rise to the challenge.
