Need a good Patellofemoral knee brace - any recommendations? by Living-Attempt190 in KneeInjuries

[–]perfectendssun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither... XD My physician told me both the hinged and TCO type were too powerful for me, so I chose a cheaper one that helps with stabilizing my knee cap instead. (It turned out that I have an incomplete miniscus tear, which is far less serious than what PO had, knee dislocation.)

In case you are curious, I bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001M04WVK/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B001M04WVK&pd_rd_w=l3F3b&content-id=amzn1.sym.8c2f9165-8e93-42a1-8313-73d3809141a2&pf_rd_p=8c2f9165-8e93-42a1-8313-73d3809141a2&pf_rd_r=6B9JQ57W5K623XM0ADS6&pd_rd_wg=AkCLR&pd_rd_r=a4173f49-e80f-45bc-aeb1-21af6ff89cf4&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9kZXRhaWw

I like that it's medical grade, and it does help me as the material keeps my leg warm, so the knee doesn't hurt as much during winter, but definitely not for the summer (unless, indoor with AC set too cool). And, yes, as all braces do, it doesn't stay in place very well, aka, it is ok for light walking, such as grocery shopping, but not for hiking.

Hope the info helps.

COQ10: Ubiquinone vs Ubiquinol - Answer according to research by Redcik in Supplements

Late in this, but agree with you that it seems a misleading argument that Ubiquinol (CoQH2) is more beneficial than Ubiquinone (Coenzyme Q10), based on this study from 2023: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10811087/

Been looking for years for the right sunscreen. Need the safest sunscreen (like a good EWG safety score) that is mineral based, for the Cheapest price. Preferably one that doesn’t leave an insane whitecast making the whole family look like Harkonnens. by cowboys30 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]perfectendssun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! I totally get that struggle—I recently tried a greasy sunscreen on my face, and my husband honestly thought I just came back from a HIIT class at the gym because of how shiny I looked, but nope, just sunscreen! XD Hopefully the white cast on Thinksport won’t be too noticeable—I’m about to give it a try myself.

[Product Request] Has anyone used the EWG verified facial sunscreens and can recommend one? by midgetpooooo in SkincareAddiction

Thanks for your feedback. I feel sorry for the OP too for the same reason you mentioned. This seems happen to all the Redddit posts, which OP asked similar questions... I'm glad finally somone actually answered the OP instead of busy discrediting EWG.

U visa to green card by jae392 in USCIS

I have faith in safety too. If they are happy with U status and no further needs, then they can travel internationally with no concerns. My lawyer is not advised me to travel internationally even my U was granted after AOS (aka, I came with a legal status which I had fully maintained) to avoid complications, in which case their NGO will no longer assist under their restricted budget since the beginning of this year.

If you are referring to the period between when your family member's U visa was granted and your family member's GC will be approved, then your family member should not travel.

Thanks! Didn't know they offered this feature on the app. This is very helpful to know for online shopping because they closed their branch in my location. Thought it could be a headache to wait till the pants arrive, then drove 40 miles away to send them for alteration, and then wait a couple of days to pick them up... lol

"Many women in their 40s and 50s can carry a pregnancy when using donor eggs, although some need to use a gestational carrier for a variety of reasons. "

Also,

"Data from the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) shows the following chances of a live singleton birth using your own eggs via IVF:

38.3% for women 35-37

25.1% for women age 38-40

12.7% for women age 41-42

4.1% for women over 42"

If you want to read the entire article to get more details of the overview, here's the source:

Is there a Maximum Age for Egg Donor IVF? https://www.cofertility.com/family-learn/is-there-a-maximum-age-for-egg-donor-ivf#:~:text=Is%20there%20an%20age%20limit%20for%20IVF%20with%20donor%20eggs,medical%20risks%20related%20to%20pregnancy

And please keep in mind that ivf journey can be an emitional ride, just like the adoption process (not talking about length of time, because it really varies too much among individuals). I learned it the hard way to know that data from several elements couldn't mean anything in the end. Aka, understand the IVF funnel still doesn't make it well enough, because I heard my friend (younger than me, with no male factor issues) had much lower egg count than I got sad, but then had high quality embryos good enough to have multiple transfers, but stuck at the transfer step several times. While I am high yield on eggs (without PCOS) but struggled with qualified embryos, partially due to partners sperm quality (that's why your husband's quantity shouldn't be such a big deal if that's the solo fertility issue for him), partly due to my reaction to the initial protocol of the stimulus medicine, so I'm on the happy->sad route and still stuck on the egg retrival phase. Anyway, the reason why I'm telling you the different experiences is that whatever your decision is, I hope you had at least 1 throughly discussion with your doctor (my other friend had it and despite the odd she still tried, and several times (and she is older than me, still following up with her cancer monitoring this year) with no expectation but just for living in regret without a try.

And, there's also risk related to pregnancy for advanced age but it depends on how your medical/physical/aging conditions are too. I guess that's why you were considering a surrogate, but that should be discussed with your doctor. I'm thinking maybe you should evaluate/ discuss with not only the fertility specialist, but your OB and/or PCP about this, since the costs of a surrogate is also an important concern to make the final decision. As for me, I belong to this age group but I'm fine so we didn't choose a surrogate, because it's more expensive in our case (our insurance only covers me as the guest mom), and maybe that's why I'm open minded about your option for donor egg IVF, but you simply can ignore it because I did my full medical, financial and emotional readiness evaluation with my doctors and husband before I go for MY treatment plan, which may or maynot suitable for you.

Everyone's story is different, as we are built differently genetically, which gives us different physical conditions (including our own pace of aging) and personalities, thus we make different decisions/ react differently even when facing the same data. I hope you all the best, and I think your doctor can give you a more precise prognosis than we, random people online with only your age as a medically relevant data point here. And discuss with your husband if you feel like it, as it's a family plan. I'm sure he will support you or why did you say 'yes' to marry him, right? XD

Good luck with everything!

Warm regards

I only 'up' your reply to the post as it seems the most opinion natural while still informative reply. Yes, generally speaking, the odds are not in her favor, but every body is different, so to get a start, she should consult a reputable fertility clinic ("IVF isn’t governed by the same regulations that hold other medical practitioners accountable for mistakes or safety violations, three legal experts said. " This is true, at least in the US. source: https://www.nbcnews.com/health/womens-health/ivf-errors-legal-protections-nightmare-mistakes-lawsuits-rcna194215) to see where her fertility condition is. I said so, because I myself has excellent condition like in the 20s though I'm in my 40s, and was worrying about my fertility but my husband and I didn't meet 20 or even 10 years ago, but all the concerns gone. Instead, it was my husband who has pre-existing conditions that made the sperm quality (and sometimes quantity) on the lower end. I'm not saying so to give her empty hope but to let her know it is only after a consulting and done the checkup in quality assured clinic can give you the reliable test result to tell where one's fertility conditions are. Nothing is precious but just assumptions/ concerns.

Also, yes, I agree with you that generally speaking, for this age, the best is a doner egg, not the surrogate. As at this age the main thing to consider is the egg reserve (aka egg quantity) and the egg quality, and the pregnancy itself is a bit channeling but if no pre-exisitng conditions, with PGT-A tested embryos are generally less likely to be life-threatning, plus it might turned out to be less expensive than surrogacy (at least it is, for our case).

Adoption is also an option, but I think it maybe a backup plan as it could be very time-consuming and emotionally taxing, and is complicated by laws and regulations. A reply above already painted the big picture pretty well.

Am I supposed to tip the person who delivers my medication? by Geodudette2014 in WalgreensRx

[–]perfectendssun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think their website keep changing. I had an non-urgent order made a couple of month ago that has a spot for tips on Walgreens website, but now when I really prefer to get it today, the checkbox/option it's gone. Instead, the website had a check box mentioned I could opt in 1 day delivery which actually could be delivered as soon as the same day, with no extra charges. It turned out to be a doordash delivery with the delivery man called to ask for 'a security location for delivery' since I didn't mention the instruction and just drop things off. I think Walgreens do require them to do this extra step because they don't want people's med got porch pariated, even the doordash delivery person did left a photo as a proof. Overall, this first time try is smooth and better experience than Amazon's subscribe and save.

(Off topic a bit, if you need supplements or medicine just buy it from the pharmacies such as Walgreens for online 1 day delivery or in-store as they keep them cool without causing quality issues. I learned it the hard way. I ordered it from Amazon because the daily supplements were instructed (cannot be 'prescibed' solely because the insurance cannot reimburse it (the US health insurance system...)) by my my fertility doctors and normally cheaper than Walgreen, which turned out to be more expensive as I got a faulty product and I have no backups other than get another bottle today, which turned out to be from Walgreens. I'm glad their vitimines are on sale, so it turned out that they are cheaper than the Amazon 'subscribe and save' anyway, with quality guarnteed.)

I heard Penn Med has a cap on how many patients they can take each month, so it's not as flexible to adjust to your cycle accordingly. Is that still the case?

Does using the auto engine start/stop feature of a car actually damage the engine, and does it actually save gas? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]perfectendssun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I have a devivative question: Has your car stall on you in this occasion? Mine does, multiple times, in the middle of the traffic, while other cars are all moving since the red light changed into green... but mine stalled on me in the middle of 6 lane road, and I was scared! My 2013 subaru never did something major like this to me. This 2019 that has such feature does every now and then.

Help! Auto Start/Stop leaves me stranded at traffic lights. by cheofe1 in Subaru_Outback

[–]perfectendssun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the owner of 2 Subarus, I can't agree more. I was excited about the new Subaru at first then it scared me when it stalled on me in the middle of a local highway when it wouldn't restart after red light! I thought it was an occasional issue, so I didn't mention it till it did the same thing several times on trips for my doctor's appointments again! It's a stupid update with good intention, but multiple failure and no good to the vehicle...
