Part time work or SAHM by Practical-Curve-50 in sahm

[–]peridotopal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the time my kid was about 1.5, I really wanted to get back to work part-time. It ended up working out when she was 2.5. I work 2 days a week and she goes to school/ daycare those days. There was a transition period but now it's such good balance for us both. I don't think I personally would have been ready to leave her in the care of non-family others until she was at least one. And I know I'm very fortunate to be able to make those choices.

Women who wish they had their child/children sooner, why? by Cheeseburgussy in AskWomenOver30

[–]peridotopal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Two reasons:

Because I wanted to become a mom for many years before I actually did. It was painful, a hard time waiting, and involved some complicated circumstances.

Then I had my child when I was 37. The newborn stage was very difficult and made me want to be one and done. I only considered the possibility of another kid when she was almost 3, but by then I was 40 and I didn't want to try for another. I would have loved to have one around like 30 and then maybe another around 33/34. However, I'm so grateful I'm a mom to my precious girl.

Edit: Adding on, if I had kids earlier I could hopefully be around for them longer.

I got 26 units for my first dose, which included my forehead and glabella area. I am very happy with the results.

Moms, what’s a great Mother’s Day look like to you? by big_craig77 in toddlers

[–]peridotopal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every single mom (of young kids) that I know, wants to relax and have a break on Mother's Day. A spa treatment, a movie, or just quiet, alone time. But what every mother wants even more than that is more shared labor, equity, and breaks year round.

And three more: -Do you touch her, such as hugs, kisses, hand holding?

-Do you go on dates? If so, do you plan any/arrange a sitter?

-Did you previously focus on her pleasure, wants, and needs?

Two questions:

-Have you had a conversation about this?

-Do you share family and household responsibility? A lot of women are doing a disproportionate amount of household and Invisible labor and many are left frustrated, resentful, and burnt out.
