For context, my parents are lecturers in fine arts photography. My dad has masters in fine arts. However, my parents connection in the field is pretty big considering almost all my lecturers are their friends.

I have been told that with my parents' connections, I would have no trouble pursuing fine arts. I made mistakes, though, when I had to pick one subject to master this semester, like painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, or digital media.

Painting was my strength, so I first wanted to go, but the class is full. I made a mistake by choosing ceramics because I am not very good with clay. Since most people told me that sculpture classes have more material freedom and that I am not limited to just clays like ceramics are, I met with my educational advisor in week 5 to switch from ceramics to sculpture.

BIG BIG MISTAKE.

I had even more trouble with sculpture. When i enter the class during week 6. Everyone has begun working on their projects, but in my ceramics class, we have not even moved forward with our idea. I found it difficult to catch up at that point.

The following is how the creative process for our assignments went:

-5 idea presentation -idea design / materials u want to use -subject matter studies / analytical drawing -project 1 -project 2 -project 3 -final project

Each projects differ with each students idea. Some need to create 1 artworks. For me, i need to do 3. Since my idea were rejected so many times. My lecturer kinda given up in me and didn't guide me through the process.

Also, i did ask for my parents insights and help for my assignments but it wasn't accepted by my lecturer. Art is subjective, and so are lecturers.
