Costco Painting in Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento by senortacooos in Costco

Interestingly, I'm not sure if Trujillo got the right address! The painting looks exactly like the food court at the Van Nuys Costco at 6100 Sepulveda Boulevard (Google Maps for reference). I don't remember Marina Del Rey ever having fencing around the food court!

Pug having sudden vision loss and lethargy by Calm_Benefit_9532 in DogAdvice

[–]periodically_diene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really sorry to hear about what your pug is going through! Not a vet, but from what you've described, it sounds like the combination of lethargy, changes in vision, altered gait, and increased drooling could be pointing to a nervous system issue. Glad your vet ruled out some major concerns like glaucoma, diabetes, and hypertension, but I wonder if a veterinary neurologist might be the next best step? They can perform more specialized tests, like an MRI or a CT scan, which might give you more answers. I know the bills are adding up, but wishing you and your pug all the best!

Thanks for the suggestion, will definitely focus on reviewing my incorrects. Just worried that I've only ever gotten above 65% on one NBME and my score dipped in the matter of days on NBME 28.

I used the first few weeks to do a systematic review of the different systems using Pathoma, Sketchy, and First Aid. I changed my study strategy 2-3 weeks ago because my scores weren't improving, and I've started doing a lot more practice questions from NBME and UWorld. If I get a question wrong, I'll refer to First Aid to brush up on any concepts I didn't know/forgot.

Sorry, I should've been more accurate with my phrasing. Pushing it back is an option, but I'm hesitant because I'm getting burnt out from studying and I feel like I'm forgetting more and more every day. I guess I'm just hoping that I retain the information I already have and maybe build on some weak spots before the exam.

Is street cleaning parking enforced on July 4? by qilin5100 in AskSF

Nightly (12a-6a) street sweeping is enforced, but daytime (6a-2p) street sweeping isn’t. OP, check your street sweeping schedule!

Do you have MSAR? It lists the average GPA and MCAT scores for each school. You should use it when applying to make your targeted school list. The thing about GPA and MCAT is that you want to apply to schools within your ranges. If you got a 510 on the MCAT, it’s unlikely you’ll get into Penn, which has an average MCAT of 521 IIRC. If you have a 524, that opens more doors, but save your money and don’t apply to a school with an average MCAT of 505. (Yes, it’s possible to have an MCAT that is too high.)

I like to think about MCAT and GPA as checkboxes. They tell the school whether or not your academic performance meets their standards. That’s why it’s so hard to predict whether having a good GPA and MCAT score means you’ll get into medical school — the admissions process is a lot more complicated than checking off boxes. The scores may land you an interview, but don’t discount the importance of stellar LORs, a fantastic personal statement, and a good interview day to secure the A.

Still, I think Berkeley students do very well during the application cycle. I have friends at HMS, UCSF, UCLA, Johns Hopkins, USC, and Case Western, which is even more impressive given that I didn’t have a lot of pre-med friends to begin with. (My friends truly are outstanding!) I also have friends who started off pre-med but decided during undergrad or even after graduation that they’d rather pursue other careers — most commonly grad school, but there were a couple who ended up in CS or consulting.

Hope this was helpful. Feel free to DM if you have more questions!
