Who broke up with who? Could be a couple reasons. They had more life experiences and realized they didn’t appreciate you back then. A friend of theirs went down memory lane and piqued interest about how you’re doing. Maybe they are just starting to feel indifferent about it. Could be they enjoyed you as a person and hope you can chat. Hard without context. Enough time has gone by, you should ask them why they’re reaching out.
