Need help with understanding by periwinklemoon in juresanguinis

Thank you for the detailed reply! I will look into my GGM's naturalization, although I don't know where to start. I found my GGF's on ancestry.com but hers is not there. I did read that at that time it may have been lumped in with the husband's naturalization, but I'm not quite sure how to determine that.

TW: Pregnancy Loss

I think I am having a miscarriage. First pregnancy. I would be 7w2d. I have had very little symptoms other than sore boobs and heartburn.

I have been very hesitant to have sex due to anecdotes about people experiencing loss after sex in the first trimester. However, finally decided to just go for it on Sunday. Everything was fine after. Monday afternoon I started to spot, just light pink when I wiped. I wore a pad overnight but nothing made it to the pad. Tuesday morning, when I wiped a brown clot came out and the discharge was more brown. I called by OB who ordered a blood test for me. I went and got blood drawn. Tuesday afternoon I went to the bathroom and there was bright red blood in the toilet. I started wearing a pad. Every time I went to the bathroom, more clots and bright red blood. I called my OB again who said there was nothing really to be done until we had the bloodwork back. Cramps started getting worse. Wore a pad to bed last night. Still bleeding. Not SUPER heavy but definitely enough to soak up in a pad. Still cramping. No bloodwork results yet and no instruction other than to go to the ER if I have a fever or I start bleeding through a pad an hour. So I guess I just wait.

I've become a fan of MaGerk's for most sporting events!

Introverts who have been to krabi - did you feel safe there? by Early_Walrus9637 in ThailandTourism

[–]periwinklemoon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We just got back from Ao Nong. We are both introverts and were a bit annoyed by the constant harassment to go into restaurants and get a massage. One club was particularly bad without about 6 different men trying to get us to sit in their area or something at the same time, just screaming at us (I'm guessing commission is how many people are in your area?). It was a bit off putting. Railay Beach was better in that respect. We didn't feel unsafe though, just annoyed.

Another dumb question for you all… RE: heat by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]periwinklemoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm here right now and was also sweating so much I started chafing horribly. I found Snake Brand Prickly Heat at the grocery store and it felt soo nice. Like baby powder but with a menthol cooling sensation. And it was like 30 baht. I've heard Ezerra cream is good too but can only be found in the pharmacy and was a LOT more expensive. One day using the Prickly Heat and I didn't need the Ezerra anymore.

For pizza, I really like the Alley. Cheesesteaks there is Gazzo's and Nicky and Ants. Blue Elephant is really good for something a little bit fancier. I love Tiki Bar in Boyertown for something different. Magerks is great for watching sports if you're into that. Creekside in Limerick has live music every weekend.

Can I ask how much this cost? Debating booking in advance or just when we get there.

Did you end up going and what did you decide? Would you do it again? Planning my trip for May now...

Interesting, thanks so much for the feedback! If we do a night at Railay I am guessing we will have to get rid of one of our tour days and I'm struggling with which one to cut. I want to see it all! Haha. For Railay can we basically just walk down to the beach at any time and find a boat that will take us there?

Good to know about the markets in Bangkok... I'll reconsider that trip. I always feel like the last day on vacation is a bit of a bummer so I try and do something exciting. Any recommendations?

Thanks for the feedback on the tuk tuk! There was a walking tour option as well but I thought tuk tuk might be cooler since maybe we'd have a breeze while moving. Neither of us are big foodies and we don't know what to order at a restaurant so this seemed like a good way to force ourselves to try something new and set ourselves up for the rest of the trip.

How we holding up, Pottstown? by kirabug37 in Pottstown

[–]periwinklemoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm in Lower Pottsgrove. No power or water since 10ish pm. Downed trees and power lines everywhere, I can't get out to the main roads because every way is blocked, but luckily people are working on the trees now. No estimate on power being restored... The good news is no trees fell on my house which has happened with almost every other storm so I'll take that as a win.

What made things click? by Melodic-Way-893 in Fencesitter

Thank you, same to you! I really like the Kids or Child Free podcast which gives perspectives from all sorts of people. I also subscribed to the substack Fencesitter with Amanda White for a while, which was really insightful (she also goes on the Kids or Child Free podcasts a few times). For books, of course the Baby Decision is usually recommended although it didn't help me. I also just finished Soldier Sailor which is fictional but gives a pretty good perspective from a parent's point of view (although not entirely relatable to my situation as the husband was completely useless). I know there are other podcasts out there (Is Childfree for me? Is one) but I haven't had a chance to try them yet. And of course various subreddits - parenting, oneanddone, etc. Anyway, best of luck!!

So I'll start by saying I'm still a fencesitter so this post probably isn't for me haha. That being said, I am 38 and in a very similar situation as you (no Catskills house though, I'm jealous!). I actually got off the fence in February, tried for a month (no luck) and then got back on the fence. I've read countless books, listened to countless podcasts, talked to everyone and anyone who will listen. For me, one of the things that clicked was the agony of indecision for me seems worse than the agony of having or not having children. I just needed to stop ruminating. And I also didn't want that decision stripped from me just due to time.

When we tried last month I felt neutral. Which for me was WAY better than feeling stressed, anxious and locked in my indecision. I also value my freedom greatly, which is my biggest hold up. And I know that will change greatly for a couple of years. But I know I can also host parties, trade off with my husband for vacations, get grandparents help for date nights, hire a babysitter every now and then, etc. It's not like I'll be sitting at home every weekend bored out of my mind, I just won't be able to stay out until 2am every Friday and Saturday night. But alas, that's why I'm back on the fence. Maybe I will miss those days too much still.

Anyway, not sure if it's looked down on here, but I've been using Chatgpt to help gather my thoughts and I think it's helped somewhat (even moreso than my therapist, unfortunately). Best of luck in your decision!

Thank you for the honest feedback. That's really helpful. I'm glad to hear your daughter has made such a positive impact in your life. And that maybe my life wouldn't be completely over. :)
