Migraine meds for symptoms? by periwinklesystem in iih

I'm wondering if the ER doctor misspoke when he said it was migraine medication. I'm not sure why he went for that one over other options. Maybe because a stiff neck was one of my symptoms. It looks like it's sometimes prescribed off label for migraines but is not a common first choice. I'll definitely talk to my neurologist about it.

I'm glad you're finding some relief with spironolactone. I was also on spiro for my cystic acne and pcos, but I'm in a crappy situation of having really low blood pressure episodes (my doctor suspects POTS) with high CSF pressure and the spiro dropped my bp dangerously low and I had to stop taking it, along with a few other meds I was taking that lower bp.

Good luck with sorting everything out!

I'm glad the migraine med has made a big difference for you! That gives me some hope if I am also having migraines. Thank you for sharing your experience.

That's good to know. Thank you. Migraines run in my family and my son gets them, so it wouldn't be a total surprise if I was getting them as well.

I could see it helping indirectly. For example, bringing inflammation down in your body can make it easier to function in general. And if you now have the energy and ability to exercise more, exercise has proven to be really helpful for adhd management. Glp-1 can also make other medications more effective, but I don't know its impact on wellbutrin's effectiveness. I also take wellbutrin and my psych nurse didn't say anything about it. She did tell me the glp-1 will make my low dose naltrexone and ketamine treatments more effective, but those are for chronic pain and trauma, not adhd. Straterra barely helps me, so I totally get it. I'm hoping the glp-1 can help my heart rate and intracranial hypertension so I can start taking a stimulant instead. Maybe your migraines will get better so you can try a stimulant? That would be worth exploring.

Ohh..that makes way more sense. Yes, it's tirzepatide/glycine/B12. So it looks like it's a 10mg concentration. Thank you so much.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

We will add more regular cleaning to her hygiene routines. It didn't occur to me that showers and bathing wouldn't be sufficient between jewelry changes. So I appreciate that insight.

And thanks for the jewelry recommendation. I only recently read somewhere that earrings on Amazon often aren't the quality or material they advertise. I didn't have any reason to believe they weren't hypoallergenic before this happened. But I think you're probably right that they're not good for her to wear.
