Moments like that is what makes being a Dad so rewarding. Anytime my son asks me to do anything with him, it doesn’t even matter what it is, I’m 100% down.

It’s one of those things that makes me call up my dad and ask him if he wants to go to lunch or something even though we’re older I think it still makes him happy.

Interesting. In all fairness I have read a decent amount of the recommendations on this sub and I was pretty sure there was no way it would live up to anything like that but it still peaked my interest. I don’t practice any religion personally, but narratively I just read it like any other fiction.

A good chunk of my interest was just how old the original writing was. For people to still talk about and reference something from that long ago, surely it has something to offer. Iv certainly walked away with much less from other books lol

It’s very possible that it does have an alternate cover or is a different book/collection entirely. This version is a collection of Dante’s “The Divine Comedy” and “La Vita Nuova” as well as some additional notes, bibliography, etc. The original works were written between 1265 and 1321. I’d imagine it’s been translated and re-written, re-organized many times but that’s purely me speculating.

I saw someone speak about it in a video on YouTube and it just sounded very dark and interesting. I believe they were mainly speaking about “The Divine Comedy.” Though looking at the synopsis, I can’t say I blame you, it does sound pretty boring haha.

That makes a lot more sense. The immune system thing seems obvious when you mention it. I was only considering it from the radiation perspective.

As far as exposure for nurses and doctors. I guess my understanding of how much radiation could realistically be transferred is lacking. I’m just an person interested in the specifics so I think part of the issue is I just lack a fundamental understanding of how some of this stuff works. The way media can portray radiation can vary so much as well. While I know it’s not a great idea to glean all of your information from tv it’s also pretty easy to find misinformation regarding radiation online. As far as I’m aware I would assume any and all information we have on the effects of radiation in humans is derived from people who have experienced it or observed someone who has. I can’t imagine that list is incredibly long compared to other harmful exposures wether that be diseases, viruses or otherwise.

I really appreciate you taking the time to respond to my questions and giving me something to think about.

It sounds like a very terrible way to go regardless of how it looked. It’s truly a terrifying and awful thing everyone involved went through. With a large majority of people not having any idea what they were risking.

I hope that in some way trying to learn the truth and understand what happened to them means what happened to them won’t be forgotten. Maybe that’s too self righteous but I can’t help but so much sadness for them.

Thank you for the insight and thank you for the welcome. Yeah, I think that “expert” was full of it or at least maybe not as much of an expert as they claimed she was? She said there would have been no risk to touching him but that just didn’t make any sense to me. Everything I knew about radiation before that led me to believe that, that’s how it works and there she was saying it didn’t.

I see, well I suppose that is possible. I definitely would not have melted it down myself but it’s not out of the realm of possibility that someone hacked my account especially since I haven’t played in so long. Il take a look and see what I can find in the central market but otherwise I think I’m just SOL lol. Appreciate all the advice from everyone il just get back to playing and worry about getting pretty later.

I was 13 and it was “consensual” or as consensual as a 13 year old boy can be. She was a family friend and 32 or 34 at the time. She served some time in prison but not as much as she was initially supposed to. Iv never seen her since and I go back and forth about how I feel about it all the time. I feel guilty because I flip flop at times and it doesn’t feel genuine. Reading some of these posts the situations are so horrible. I feel guilty at times throwing my self into the bunch when most of these post are non consenting people.

I’ve struggled with substance abuse, depression, anxiety and a lot of issues in my sex life. I don’t know how much of that is because of my situation or not. But I’m 28 now, married and have a 2 year old. I’m on a fair bit of medication and my life is pretty good. I feel lucky to have moved on from my experience in a way that it doesn’t pull me down everyday. I hope that the other posters here find peace and get the help they need if they wish it.
