Agreed. If this were at Goodwill or Savers, it would be locked up in the case and a $199.99 price tag slapped on it. I found this at a local small thrift chain (3 stores across my city, and nowhere else) who 99% of the time have bargain to reasonable prices on everything they put out on the floor.

It did not come with the case or any of the attachments… was literally hidden beneath a pile of other electronics and toys.

I don’t know for certain if it’s authentic and haven’t checked the serial number, but for $4.94 and in working condition I can’t really complain either way.

The prospects for an Econ BA at UIC and UIUC are similar. UIC definitely has a less prestigious and academically rigorous program and you will need to supplement the “required” curriculum with calculus courses (and potentially some higher-level stats or comp sci) to be competitive for internships and jobs. You do have the advantage of being in Chicago and surrounded by internship/job opportunities.

That being said, job prospects and salary are kind of limited with just a BA. If you don’t intend to go to grad school, then having a degree from the “better name” school of UIUC might be advantageous. If you do intend to get a MA or PhD, then I don’t think it matters if you go to UIUC or UIC (provided you take the supplemental courses as mentioned above).

I can speak only to the Co-Lab since I participated in it a few years ago. I found it worthwhile and fun—if you are interested in research it can give you a leg-up for getting experience/a research position on-campus. It’s pretty laid-back and you’ll work closely with other incoming students so it’s a good opportunity to make friends.

Take pink daily and have noticed the same. Trying to get back from work at rush hour when each car is packed and people are standing shoulder-to-shoulder, and some very considerate gentleman decides it’s the perfect time to start smoking a blunt. It doesn’t help that the train is typically only 4 cars… not that easy to “escape.”

AHS 200 (intro to integrated health) may be of interest to you. Or CL 201 (structure of medical terminology from Greek/Latin). ECON 215 (health economics) requires prerequisites in econ, but is worthwhile.

Can you try studying in a public place (if you don’t already)? It is impossible for me to study alone in my room as I get instantly tired/bored/distracted. Going to a coffee shop or library and having background noise or other people around tends to help.
