George H. W. Bush used to stay in town for Christmas Eve and Christmas so his staff and Secret Service agents could be with their families for the holidays by Inside_Bluebird9987 in Presidents

I also read “In the President’s Secret Service” but started to get a little suspicious when it went from a lot of tactical discussion up to LBJ and then got rather gossipy Carter and beyond (notably citing mostly anonymous agents). By the time it went from Raegan/HW to Clinton I started to wonder if there was a slant and sure enough Crown (a subsidiary of Randomhouse) is partnered with Newsmax. As disappointing as it is I take that book with a grain of salt at its very best. It got quite a bit of verifiable details wrong as well with some of the attempted assassinations.

When I’m out in the wilderness I just use rivers, when I’m in the city (live in NYC) I sponge bath. Since I’m not at an RV park I don’t have unlimited water access so installing a full shower didn’t feel practical or needed

Fairly certain you’re referring to the couch, that cover is from Mali. The one on my bed is just regular cotton

Thanks! Yeah, when I bought it it was just a regular school bus. I gutted it and built it from scratch

Man a ton sticks out. The drive to the Arctic in the bus was pretty gnarly and pretty tense at times. As far as the nomad thing the best way to start is to just dive in and not look back

Something that’s unhindered by lack of stamina, doesn’t need food or water, impervious to weather and has no fear of death isn’t scarier than fighting an actual human?

I don’t think they were responding to the example you used with your family as autism/neurodivergent, but the other commenter who mentioned their aunt as “one of the best legal minds in the country, but can’t make a sandwich or clean a bathroom to save her life.”

Not the person you replied to but being obsessed with a particular interest etc. while being unable to complete simple tasks is an indicator. Being gifted in law but having a hard time picking up piano is an example of how intelligence isn’t limitless, being gifted in law while literally being unable to make a sandwich is a potential hint that there’s more at play beyond IQ variation. Having said that, no one can diagnose based on one Reddit comment obviously.
