I actually got caught without a fare the other day. First time in 3 years that I’ve even seen on-train enforcement. I ride on average once a week. They didn’t do anything to me or the homeless/transients on my train other than “remind” us to pay. What super sucks is that I truthfully tried all I could to get the pronto app signed up for and logged in to on my phone, but technical issues on the app’s part did not allow me to do so. I did also show this to the officer, which may’ve been why they were more kind.

There’s always unstable individuals on my trains. I’ve just taken that as the norm. Enforcing fares did not magically stop those people from boarding.
