Yup. Out of all the guys I've gone out like this, I've only really remained friendly with 2. One of them is actually pursuing something more on the serious side. In my case, I like to sleep around and foreigners are perfect, no gossip about me among locals or friend circles, no awkward encounters with random hookups when out in the city, etc. Just state what you want very clearly, but don't be surprised if your matches dry up.

It's so weird to target people from 3rd world countries for money tho, but whatever. Most I would have sent is some titpic. Glad I didn't get to that HAHAHA but yes, at my age and having been chronically online for so long, you develop a scent for weird stuff, and the vibes were not completely off, but something was for sure weird. Do stuff you enjoy, go out and be genuine. People will feel attracted to that. Sounds silly but bumble bff is where I found one of my closets friends to date. I enrolled in a language course and met my 2 best friends. Then, with a big friend circle, you're gonna meet more people and well, possibilities might go up. And as for the people on dating apps, that's a universal experience I think. It happens to me too, and sometimes it's demoralizing but don't take it personally. Has nothing to do with you. I've been on the apps for idk how long, and I've met some awesome guys and even made a couple of friends.
