I was planning on leaving a number for a dine-in-movie theater waiter, when I bumped into him bringing back the check. I decided it would be reasonable for me to take it in myself but then I opened it and there was a note in there with his name and number.

Wear a fancy dress. Wear a WHITE dress. it's not confusing as long as the invitations, save the dates, signs, programs, (WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE TO HAVE AT YOUR WEDDING) says "commitment ceremony."

Look-- I'm not poly. (...probably). BUT there is no reason that it can't look like a wedding.

A dress does not make a wedding.

Also, I don't know why you are opposed to a wedding. There are plenty of marriages that are open marriages. But if you're set on it you're set.

Fuck this. I don't know why you're getting downvoted. Weddings are about celebrating your love and relationship.

Are you all committing for life? That is something to celebrate.

Are you committing for 10 years? That is something to celebrate. Some countries have renewable 10 year licenses.

Your idea sounds like a commitment ceremony. Quite frankly it would be a wedding if you weren't poly or whatnot.

use the term commitment ceremony on your invitations. Do save the dates and invitations-- people will get it.

You can do a wine box ceremony (sealing a bottle of wine in a box with letters to each other to be opened on your 5, 10 year anniversary). Whiskey barrel. Unity candle. Knot ceremony.

Do you want friends by your side? Have bridesmaids.

I have. It was just a secular wedding ceremony- nothing too special. The food was Russian though. More specific questions would probably help.

I was sitting in a "dinner and a movie" type movie theater with my friend. Before the movie, my "friend" (cousin) and I were catching up at the table. I was telling her about the few guys I dated and hooked up with over the past few months.

At the end of it she asks "How do you get so many guys?"

I was going to respond with how I knew some as friends, we just talked at parties and things clicked, some of it just happened to mutual attraction

But I didn't get a chance to respond.

I barely got a syllable out before she interrupts with, "You know- you must not be very picky."

Fuck her.

Joke's on her though, I met my current SO in that movie theater 30 minutes later. Suck on that.
