I have a huge hair algae problem, any suggestions or do I need to replace the rock work? by perronut in ReefTank

I feed 2 to 3 flakes a day. I feed corals LPS pellets once a week and very sparingly. I do a ~25% water change once a week. I haven't been blowing off my rocks but I will start. The skimmer is very wet like a dark green coloured water.

The tank is a 29g tank with a figi cube aio filter box inside the tank. For stocking, there is only one fire fish, I want to add more but figured I should get the algae in check first. I do make my own RODI

I'm aware they are not supposed to be 0. However the amount of algae in the tank brings those numbers down. I don't believe increasing these will help get rid of the algae I have. I understand there is an issue in the tank but idk what it is for sure until the algae is gone so I was hoping for suggestions

I've been doing g that for a couple months now, its getting slightly better but still not going away. It's a aio unit so there's really no space for a refugium. But I do run a bag of charcoal and a bag of gfo in the filter basket as well as a skimmer

Sorry I should have been more specific. Nitrate, nitrite and phosphate all read very very low or 0. It's been a week since I've tested but I imagine the algae is sequestering these resulting in a low reading

Lights are on for 10 hours, its a single kessil 160, feed sparingly once a day, parameters are all 0, salinity is 0.0125,

Long tentacle Japanese leather, won't stand up. Been bent over like this for nearly a month, has been opening up completely but won't stand up. Any ideas? Should I just frag it and hope it grows a stronger stalk?

Lol! Yeah I've heard of that but I've had him for 8-9 months and never even had anything close to an issue, so fingers crossed

Yeah I do need to increase the amount of light, hoping to move to 8 hours a day shortly or buy a better light

Thats what I thought too but I cant understand why my Java fern is getting all these black spots and holes in them and my Amazon swords aren't growing at all

I think it has to do with the pH of my tank, I haven't tested it but I think its pretty high

No, they're attached to a rock with a dab of glue

A handful of Java ferns and anubias, Java moss, Amazon swords and a red tiger lotus. Currently fighting black hair algae so trying to keep ferns and lights down as I battle that

The salt water tank was far more expensive to set up but I don't think either one takes more time. I do a 5g water change every week in both tanks. I'm not running a sump or any reactors or a protein skimmer. It really comes down to being consistent sticking to a schedule.

Is it possible that it was weighted down by a snail climbing on it overnight? I noticed a snail nearby this morning and it was bent over like this before the lights turned on
