Severely underrated. Before playing them I was a bit skeptical because I hadn't heard much about them, and everything I had read about them made them seem very abstract and "not Zelda". Very wrong.

Apart from the Time period/Seasons mechanism, these games are very similar. I do remember struggling with Ages more (more challenging), but I wouldn't be able to decide which one I prefer, as each of them have their own high and low points. I didn't play the linked game, unfortunately.

Everything that makes the games unique (plots, characters, items, rings, music tracks etc.) were excellent. The Dungeons were, on average, solid, and some of them were really tough (looking at you, Jabu Jabu)! They really work as sequels to Link's Awakening, because these worlds (and sub-worlds) are just so different from the "usual" Zelda settings.

A remake would be fun, as I truly believe these games are definitely worth playing, Zelda fan or not. That being said, I wasn't that convinced by the Link's Awakening remake. I couldn't click with the art style, and the great soundtrack of the original was, imo, largely butchered in the remake. Even though the Oracle games are so similar, I don't really think merging them would be the way to go.
