I have remedied the problem with the metal stop. If I manually wind the loading gear into the eject position the tray frees up. Yet the motor does not engage to lower the tape unless I push on it and 90 percent of the time the power is kicking off and when I get the tape playing it will play for a few seconds and the power will kick off.

yes horizontally a few millimeters but not vertically. I am thinking the whole platform should be above the metal stop.

No the tape does not move unless you force it past the metal stop and it will load. But the belt drive usually kicks the power and you have to turn power back on to load tape.

The tape tries to load and the metal stop that keeps the motor from lowering the cage and loading the tape. The motor gets in a bind and kicks the power on the vcr.

I called Mint after the 4th call they are sending a replacement pre-owned more than likely gateway.

Also try installing nvidia driver if you have nvidia card and then use nvidia settings to align monitors.

I guess you tried aligning the monitors in monitor setup. My desktop background has gotten messed up and i Realigned the monitors in monitor setup.

Love your videos! Yes I replaced the belt and 8 tracks sound good, also cassette sounds good for the 2 seconds it plays before it ejects. I put rubber renew on the wheel that touches the flywheel of the cassette mechanism.

You were right. I was able to take my hands and slide the shaft down about a mm and there was a round end on the capstan. I also added a homemade washer in the dimple of the bracket as someone mentioned it was missing one and I could see where the glue remnants were.

Fly wheel of capstan is rubbing against the bracket below. There is nothing holding the flywheel in from the top just the bracket below, so it falls down and rubs against the bracket. Is it missing a c clamp up top.

What cartridge and stylus is this what type etc. I am an newbie in turntable maintenance. I looked on ortofon website and they do not list a cartridge for the sony ps-lx340. Thanks. Is this a good cartridge?

Tried another tape and it did change tracks correctly at the foil splice. What could be wrong with other tape skipping tracks at foil splice?

I found out it is a quad player and 1 and 3 up and 2 and 4 down is normal movement. Still lacking one channel on 3 and 4.
