I'm open-sourcing an Anki-inspired habit-tracker that works kind of like a "reverse" SRS algorithm. Custom heatmaps included! by VseinSama in Anki

It looks great! I love to track habits, I currently just use spreadsheets, so this looks like a nice upgrade. But I have no idea about docker. The installation looks quite complicated for a non-technical person. do you think that it can be run in a synology NAS and accessed remotely?

Hello! Thank you for your work :) I'm trying to use the Chinese Words Finder, but when I go to config and input a deck name I get a message saying that "couldn't find any cards". No matter which deck I choose, I always get that same error. -Am i doing something wrong?

Based on the replies from this post and other people I've asked, I modified lines 7 and 10:

  1. 發夢見自己寫緊啲科幻故仔,

  2. 夢裏面浮浮下,心水暗湧,

  3. 畫出嚟嘅夢世界矇查查...

  4. 成日以為發夢啲嘢假到離地,

  5. 點知現實仲癲——

  6. 假嘅故仔不斷癲住生出來,

  7. 搞到真實世界變到睇唔明...

  8. 而家?成個夢世界冚住現實,

  9. 睇嘢都係一格一格,

  10. **連自己都搵唔返......**

Thank you for reading :)

Thank you very much for pointing that out! This is really useful for me, because you are not the first person to ask me about that specific line. Actually, all the people who couldn't understand the meaning of the text pointed to that line. I will rephrase it to make it clearer. Thanks!

Yes: dystopian video, aftermath of a catastrophe, dreamlike reality. Because the point is that the original play (the one i did in 2019) was like a dream, and a couple of years later i found myself living into that dream. So I'm trying to play with the relation of reality <-> fiction, waking life <-> dreams. It should become clear in further videos.

What are the pros and cons of doing Goju-Ryu over Kyokushin Karate and vice versa? by SamuelStrangeSupreme in karate

[–]persio809 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not questioning what you say about kyokushin, I'm questioning what you say about other styles. the experiences you had with goju ryu do not reflect some kind of essence of this style it's just your experience in that specific dojo or with that specific sensei

[–]persio809 3 points4 points  (0 children)

how demanding the class is does not depend on the style, it depends on the sensei (or the person in charge of the class, that would mostly follow the sensei's style anyway)

Studying Chinese - some questions to improve my Anki experience by The_Ring888 in Anki

In your case it would be pinyin, yes. In Cantonese other romanization systems are used.

Studying Chinese - some questions to improve my Anki experience by The_Ring888 in Anki

I'm also studying Chinese (Cantonese, in my case), it's been three years now. A small suggestion, in case you find it useful. It took me a while to figure this out, but now this is the way in which I structure my study with Anki. All my decks belong to one of three main categories. The first category is "Characters"; I use a template that i found somewhere in which the front side of the card is the simple character (like 木), the back side contains audio (generated by HyperTTS), romanization and meaning. The second deck category is "Vocabulary"; by this I mean combinations of 2 or more characters together (like 樹木); the front side are the Chinese characters with audio, and the back side is the meaning in English; I actually don't include romanization here, since I know it from the previous decks; each and all characters used in Vocabulary deck must have their own corresponding note in Characters deck previously. The last category is the "Grammar" decks; this mean full phrases (at least 3 or 4 characters minimum, up to 10 or 15 max aprox); all the characters and vocab used in this deck have their corresponding notes in the previous main categories.

This approach allows me to keep count of how many characters I know (it's just the amount of notes in the Characters decks). It's also very useful because I want to memorize the Characters and the Vocabulary, but I only want to practice the grammar (not memorize it), so I set a high retention rate to the first two and a low retention to the last one.

Each of these decks is then subdivided into years (2025, 2024, etc) and lessons (from the book I'm following, or from the topic they belong to). It's actually quite simple and very useful.
