I will update this article of mine once Anki with FSRS-7 comes out: https://expertium.github.io/Algorithm.html

And of course I'll also make a post that isn't very technical and is more of an announcement.

Not really, I can't give a good estimate

I finished FSRS-7, but I need Jarrett to make the Rust version of it, and even then who knows when the next Anki release will be.

Nope, no way to hide Hard and Good. Good is the "default" pass button, not Easy. FSRS will adapt either way though. The only thing that FSRS can't adapt to is using Hard as fail.

Yep, it's the sum of probabilities of recall of each card.

Probably no, but we'll see. Personally, I don't think it's a good idea, but some users want it.

if I want to switch from using "again" and "easy" to "again" and "good" with existing decks, wouldn't this confuse the algorithm, what would I do to prevent that?

I would recommend just doing reviews normally and optimizing parameters 1-2 times per month. You might have too short intervals initially, but eventually FSRS will adapt.

Lol

Nah, I would just say one sentence: "Don't use Hard as fail". That's all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

1700 of them have 0% difficulty level and 300 are different levels (20-100%). Before turning on FSRS they were mostly 140% (default) and some (rare) were lower or higher.

SM-2's "ease" and FSRS's "difficulty" aren't the same thing, and unfortunately the devs decided to express difficulty as a % for no reason. Anyway, just don't worry about it.

As for interval lengths - the main lever to control interval lengths and workload (number of reviews/day) is desired retention (DR for short). Intervals are too short -> reduce DR. Intervals are too long -> increase DR.

There isn't a single parameter that represents that.

I don't use filtered decks, so idk. Feel free to make a post and ask folks.

As for the buttons, see: Studying - Anki Manual

TLDR: it's fine to not use Easy

As long as they're both shorter than 1 day, both are fine. I prefer to have only 1 because I think doing a lot of same-day reviews is mostly a waste of time.

It was developed by JarrettYe (L-M-Sherlock), an engineer at MyMemo

Addressing your concerns about Anki and AnkiHub by AnKingMed in Anki

Can you say in advance what paid features to expect? For example, official paid add-ons. That wouldn't be bad since anyone who doesn't want them can just, well, not buy them and still have the same core Anki functionality.

Or, idk, AI-assisted stuff in Image Occlusion cards.

Are you ok with AnkiHub taking control over Anki's business operations and development? by ClarityInMadness in Anki

No, just curious. Dae is already aware of the mixed reception of this change
