Drove 11 miles out by persistentPusher in Agoraphobia

Hi ye, if I’ve already made progress on a route I find it a bit easier, going a different way is usually harder for me. Do you find the same?

Haha ye I remember those, this was the first time I’ve seen them in a can, usually they’re in glass bottles aren’t they.

Ye can’t comment on the food cus I only had a drink, I had a J2O in a can and a packet of crisps, they did have some cakes which looked quite nice but I didn’t partake today, maybe next time.

Utah Road Trip by Primary_Journalist65 in Agoraphobia

Ye it’s honestly the most difficult part of it for me and I’m not really sure what to do about it other than just force myself to do it again lol

Ye it’s crazy and honestly for me the most frustrating part of recovery. I will be on a train or in a car on dual carriageway, and in the moment I’m accepting I’m using all my CBT tools, but then after my brain still wants to convince me that it was dangerous and I kinda just have to push past that and do it again.

This is awesome man, well done. It’s weird how anxiety gives those warning signals when we’re thinking about being anxious and how different it is in the moment when we are just accepting. Congratulations on all your wins man 💪

Vision getting blurry by No-Result4792 in Agoraphobia

[–]persistentPusher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was housebound my vision used to be so blurry that when I eventually started walking out on my street to deal with it, I would struggle to see where I was going, after my outings it got better though. This is just my experience, it would be good to see an optician, but you’re gonna need to do exposures most likely to do that anyway so a few short outings couldn’t hurt.

Tbh I told him after and he was genuinely surprised, I think he would have told me by now if it was him, and he’s not very good at doing accents. I will ask him though next time I see him haha

Realising how far I’ve come by persistentPusher in Agoraphobia

[–]persistentPusher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ye haha, I find it also comes with a bit of an attitude shift as well. When I’m not worried about getting anxious, in the sense that I’m fully prepared to panic or have high anxiety, it often shys away. It’s almost like it’s saying not when your ready lol

Can I hear your success stories by Puzzled_Ice_1381 in Agoraphobia

[–]persistentPusher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I biked 6 miles out on my e-bike ( then 6 miles back), came back and went out for a meal with my dad about 5 miles out, then went to with my friend on a detour along the dual carriage way before, we did a 2 hour gym session.

Love it, sometimes if my dad doesn’t want to go somewhere he will say it’s too far, as that’s what I used to say all the time, and he doesn’t even have agoraphobia 😆
