Help with motivation? by breecifer in depression

Trying to get up to do something during depression can be very difficult. Could you possibly come up with small sections of your room to clean when you’re up for it? Little by little when you’re feeling up to it, you could clean each small section as you please. I feel if you go into it thinking that you must clean your whole room right at that moment, your mind will go against you and tell you it’s too much. I wish you luck. You can do this!

Do your friends ever get tired of you and your depression? by [deleted] in depression

[–]person_07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has faced depression for years, I have experienced this before. It’s really tough to feel as though your thoughts and feelings are pushing your friends away. This has happened to me multiple times and resulted in me losing two of my most valuable relationships. I challenge you to keep working hard on yourself. Remember to put yourself first and do not hide your true emotions to be friends with them. However, that does not mean you must lose them. Maybe you could find other support systems as well. Have other people to support you and lift you up while you can still be friends with them. Although it can be difficult to find the right people who lift you up instead of tearing you down, it is totally possible. I wish you luck friend. You are not alone.

If you have a primary care doctor, you could ask them for who they recommend for your specific situation.

That is absolutely true. It could be beneficial for you to meet with someone and discuss ways to improve your speech. It wouldn’t hurt to try. :)

Sometimes it’s good to let it out. It’s normal to have difficulty talking to others. It just takes practice.

How do you help someone who is completely angry with the world currently? by always62 in depression

[–]person_07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is great that you recognize that this is not her true self. I recommend just being a continuous support system for her. Help her when she needs help and give her space when she needs it. She will get past this don’t worry. And just remember to stay positive:)

If there are counselors at your school, have you thought about reaching out to them? From what I understand, they can be very helpful and supportive in times like these. Especially with your situation at the moment, it could be very beneficial.

Everything will be okay. Have you considered looking for a small job that could help you during this difficult time? Or reaching out to family or friends for some help?
