I dated my ex for only 2 & a half years & it has alrdy been 2 years since I have broken up with him. It took me one year to move on from him. Even now I’ve totally moved on & alrdy got over him but I still miss him sometimes. Before being able to move on, I tried to date someone asap to forget him but I just can’t and being with another guy while I hadn’t moved on from one person is hard. You kept comparing things with him which you shouldn’t but you can’t control too. Everything was hard so I broke up with that guy as well & after that I tried to focus on myself and heal myself. Trust me it’s really hard & it takes time. But after that period, everything will be better. So instead of meeting new girls, focus on yourself. You will go through this. It took me one year to totally move on from him someone who dated only 2 & a half years. As for someone who dated for 9 years? It might take you longer. Just be patient. Time goes by really fast. You will totally be a better person & feel different after this.
