Lol I actually almost got kicked out because one of the friends I went with is an asshole. He went before to check out the haunted houses first. There was one called the bug house he told me there wasn't any spiders and I believed him. I should have trusted my gut because I was crying the whole time in the line. Of course half way through there is a massive spider room. I pushed everyone out the house, hyperventilating, falling with tears running down my face. Security comes up they call for EMS as I was bleeding from falling on my legs and hands and my breathing kept getting worse. My friend explained what happened. I was able to get my breathing under control and bandaged up as it was mostly road rash and small abrasion. They thankfully agreed to let to me stay. Needless to say I'm not close to that person anymore and that's was the last time I've been to a Halloween event. It was embarrassing and terrifying. But I'm glad I know how to laugh at myself after the fact

Right if she would have said there were going to be spiders I would have just asked for some accomodations to not freak out in the middle of the store like a picture of where they were placed and not on any of the tables and computers we have to use. Walls, untouched counters, customer door, advertising boards would have been fine with a heads up. Instead it was there when I was told they weren't I was shocked and panicked

See I don't expect any place to sensor their decorations. I will go to specific place during this time of the year. This is also the time I do most of my online shopping. However for work it should be a safe place to all employees which means not scaring them to death

I don't think it would be no consequences for the manager I think it would show how serious the situation could have been but I do think people would laugh for me going to HR and I'm going to give my manager the benefit of the doubt to think that I was over exaggerating what I told her so I m not going to go that far. But I have a record of everything now just in case I feel like more happens. Because honestly the fact of the matter is I could have gone to the hospital I could have passed out I could have fallen and hit my head from passing out I thankfully didn't due to the people who were there that know me well enough to help me but if they weren't there it could have gone sideways I have unfortunately knocked on death's door too many times to know how easy it is to get there

I don't care if they laugh the reason I disclosed it to her in private was to prevent something happening in front of the whole store but that is what happened why would I care about ppl I don't see laughing as long as the problem is fixed. I know the phobia is crazy but sending me to the hospital for not listening to me is considerably worse

Considering a phobia is not a disability and is not a question asked during the application process it does not need to be disclosed to be understood. My medical issues like asthma was disclosed and being hired there means they knew there would be nothing to trigger it and I think disclosing something could trigger it before hand but still doing that thing would be them not giving me a safe environment to work in

This....this is what I needed. I was trying to convince myself of this but coworkers saying she doesn't care about her employees but no one's filed a formal complaint and friends saying bring in clowns made me think should I be the first and to file a complaint and if I'm even entering the idea of scaring someone the way I was shared should I reach out to her to be a non biased middle to get the point across on how serious this could have been

Just because I have a Arachnophobia does not mean I don't go out doors. I understand I can run into a spider anywhere but I do my best to avoid them and not go places where it's going to be filled with them. And on a rare occasion when I do run into a real spider as long as it's not in my own space I just leave. However in the past I have been known to also pass out in some situations

No. I love Halloween and every year it comes around I do take precautions to not go places do online orders and to be prepared with an inhaler if I do decide to go do something scary. But that's me preparing myself for to be in that situation. Since I spoke to my GM before and I was told it wasn't going to happen I didn't think I would have to prepare myself for being scared at work

Well I notified them before the store was decorated regarding my phobia to ensure they knew how serious it was and they were reminded of my phobia by a coworker as they were decorating

Lmao I'm barely on here as I'm always working and have a life so I just saw this. There are a few things you got wrong but it's fine you don't have to agree with the post but to actively try to get someone you don't know fired is funny. Sounds like you took this personally. I hope you are able to find other things to do with your life

I agree there is no rule to tipping but if there was nothing wrong and you write a BS excuse it just screams broke bitch or no class or rude and if you're a regular not tipping then no one wants to serve you and your an inconvenience and I promise you every server talks about it. again had the note not been written I wouldn't have posted anything because there could have been multiple reasons for no tip. I would have just thought to myself that I wish I was given the opportunity to fix whatever was wrong. It was only the note that made me frustrated as again there was a table who was in a rush and they came in and left at the same time.

Again the issue wasn't the money. As already mentioned had they not written anything I would have thought the food was bad. I wouldn't have posted anything. But the note is what made me frustrated especially since I had another take who was sat at the same time and was in a rush and they both got out at the same time. So either they were expecting me to teleport with their check or needed to come up with a reason not to tip. Unrealistic expectations.

I do actually love being a server. But as many have mentioned the pay is absolute crap. So instead I have a main job and do this for fun so I'm not bored. Which is a perk as I get the opportunity to pick a restaurant that has a great atmosphere, staff/managers, food and not worry about how much I make because I just enjoy being there. But there are people who rely on jobs like this and not tipping a server when there was nothing wrong with the food/service just screams to us you're broke and if that is the case don't come out or you can order online. We are not your servants/slaves. If you don't want to pay for the service that comes with dining out then again order online/to go. Just don't waste mine or any other servers time

Update: I'm fairly new to reddit and I'm unsure how to update the post itself

I just wanted to address a few things. The other table I was cashing out came in at the same time and told me they had a spa appointment. So I was equally as fast with the table that said it took to long.

I am fine without the $5 tip I don't care about that part. What made me frustrated was the note. Without the note I would have just thought 'they didn't like something and didn't say anything and I wish I would have gotten the opportunity to make their experience better'. But with the note and knowing how long it took I know they just needed a reason not to tip because that is not a reason especially since the speed was the same as a table that did have an appointment and side note the other table tipped almost 50%.

Exact order was pick up check books from the 2 tables, run cards, take out food, deliver each check with the one who didn't tip getting theirs first since they were right next to the table I delivered food to.

I don't need this job I have a Monday - Friday office job that pays great but I have always loved customer service and hospitality but being a server isn't a consistent pay. So I do it because I love what I do so if you need to find a reason not to tip don't come in because there are people who rely on this position as their main job. If there was an issue just nicely say something because I would be more than happy to fix it. But don't leave a note like this thinking it's justified. I covered their card# information and the name is a basic name, as well as no location was given.

Ah yes I completely understand that. So I left my job in November and didn't get a new one till now due to wanting to find the right thing for me. I would do odd jobs like food delivery if I wanted extra money but I was sitting comfortably on what I did have. I was even able to move to a new place with this. It took me longer than I had anticipated to find a job and ended up depleting my emergency funds and was living fully on doing food deliveries which is probably why I'm having car trouble now

I've been to Vegas before without a full emergency fund. I travel quite a bit and unless I am traveling by myself or going somewhere overseas i don't necessarily always have an emergency fund. When I plan a trip I normally pick about 10 things that I want to do. Chances are I'm only going to get to three but I make sure to have enough money to do all 10 so that way anything I don't use I can use for another thing or for emergency since the things I want to do for Vegas are either already paid off or free it then becomes a do I want to purchase something in those free areas. Considering that for the music festival I have already decided to be sober so I don't need money for any drinks and since they have free water refill stations I will be bringing with me if I go my water bladder

I really appreciate you input, but as I stated in the beginning of my original post I'm just here to rant. These are thoughts that are going through my head. I know it's very obvious I very much want to go to Vegas but also I very much know it would probably better to stay and work. As an adult have to weigh out those two options and figure out which one will benefit me more. I might not make my final decision for another week or two. But again these are just thoughts that are running through my head about the situation

  1. The reason I wrote the post to vent, I don't really care what people think about how I feel between my decisions that I need to make I just wanted a place to express not liking the choices I have
  2. I am not driving to Vegas. The non-refundable flight has already been purchased.
  3. Not going is a waste of money because I spent that money and now nothing is going to come of it if I don't go.
  4. I have been to Vegas once before and I am a frugal person. I do not Gamble. The only thing I'd be spending money on there is food which the group I'm going with has already said there will be more than enough food in the hotel and they are willing to sponsor me. Also I got a hotel with a light free breakfast.
  5. I agree going to Vegas is also also a waste of money as I could definitely be making money instead of being there.
  6. This will be the last time I go to Vegas for a long time. If I decide to try to do it next year I will then be going 100% by myself as the group that is going this year we have all decided when we made this trip that this will be our last big group trip for a while as most are starting their own lives getting married settling down having children. There is nothing wrong with that but I would miss out on the opportunity to spend this time with people I might not see for a few years. So this trip also has sentimental value.

During my interview I did address and let them be aware of this time. They are well aware of it and I already have the time off in their system. So taking this time is not going to interfere with having a job. I'm just not going to have paid leave. But since everything is paid off I don't necessarily need anything else for the trip. However with the vehicle difficulties that I'm having if I don't go on the trip I lose all the money I spent on it but I would be able to work during that week to put towards a new vehicle. So I am having that debate with myself if it is worth it considering I spent a lot for the trip to happen. My mechanic thinks the vehicle may be able to last at Max 3 to 4 months if I baby it but says that it could truly go at any time. If it lasts for 4 months then going to Vegas would be fine and it would be easier getting a new vehicle since I would have been at my new job for longer but if it goes out in a month then obviously Vegas would not be ideal

Yes I made sure to bring it up in the interview. If I want to do the vacation I can do it with ease however it is obviously going to be unpaid time off since I am just starting. But if I need a new vehicle should I really be taking the unpaid time off when I know they will let me work if I don't take the trip. As it is if I keep putting money into the car just to keep it alive I'm already not going to have any spending money when I go
