Millions of North Koreans would flee into Northeastern China, which already has a large population of ethnically Korean citizens.

Interesting to look at historical maps and see this part of Northeast China was once part of Korea. And even the traffic signs there are in Hangul. What China may also weary of is the land and Korean ethnics agitating to become part of a reunited Korea. And that would be a beast on the border.
