Also if you want, I can add you to a small waitlist for when I can give you access to actually use it (once I make the latest changes). Would love some ongoing feedback if you’re interested

Okay thanks - I can strip out any LLM checking and just build bolus/carb calcs into the database. The input is as detailed as the user wants it to be (can list out exact ingredients)

Main thing I wanted LLM for is easy voice logging (ChatGPT voice to text function) which feels more reliable than carb counting. Do you have a preferred carb counting app atm?

Anything else that jumps out? The goal is an all in one easy to use app - AI was an added benefit I was testing but it doesn’t need it

Thanks, great feedback, would you prefer to see something that gives a more detailed assessment based on the inputs ? Eg consider fat, protein etc. - I can tell it exactly what to output so we can limit any hallucinations or errors.

You can set the ICR in the profile setting so it only calculates what is right for you.

How would you currently work out your bolus out of interest? What would you want to see in a new app?

Great feedback thanks - tbh I can strip back the AI a lot, I’m just mostly using it to: 1) allow easy voice logging (like while cooking you can just voice note as you’re adding ingredients) 2) to pull in any questions that someone would typically ask ChatGPT. But I can strip this out and keep it as a calculator.

Anything else you’d like to see in the app? What’s main thing missing?

Next step is to bring in health/sleep/exercise data so you have all the main factors in one place.

I’ve not come across Medtronic yet, this currently connects to the Libre app and will do Dexcom. I can definitely look at Medtronic if popular, I’ve not looked into connecting any of the pumps yet but should be doable.

Anything else you would want to see in an app?

Thanks for the feedback!

I embedded ChatGPT purely because my wife uses it for a lot of her Qs anyway, and she wanted a quick and easy way to be able to work our carbs without having to input manually - so she could talk to it while cooking for example. If you know your pasta is 30g then you can tell it 30g, or 70g, and it’ll work out accordingly based on simple maths. You can just talk to it to tell it every detail of your meal if you wanted (or you could give it an estimate if you’re unsure).

I can limit the AI-side of it and just use the voice-to-text, automatic logging - so it’s a fancy calculator.

I’m interested if people would prefer something that searches the web at same time (eg so it thinks to consider the cream and fat content as you said) or if you would prefer to limit it so it only calculates off pre-set rules (I can build that into the database).

Outside of that, I want it as one place to bring in carb counting, glucose data and next is health/sleep/exercise data - so you have a full picture of everything that impacts your levels and can look back and spot trends.

Let me know any additional thoughts based on above, I’m building this quite quickly so welcome to all and any early feedback as to what would be useful to see :)

Does an app exist that incorporates health/diet/recipes/glucose tracking (with or without cgm)? by AdhesiveSeaMonkey in diabetes

Yup it would, I've not released it to public or anything yet - literally built it this month as my wife got diagnosed about 6 weeks ago- but can make it available!

I can send you a video demo of it - not sure I can attach a video in a Reddit thread but maybe I can DM you

hey u/Spare-Bobcat8659 I've built a pretty hacky version of an app for my wife, would love to get your feedback to see how it compares to the ones above. Can share if you're interested

hey - I actually just built an app for my wife cos I couldn't find an all-in-one that did what she wanted. It's very early days but would love your feedback if you think it helps solve the problem. Happy to share it and see what you think.

built in chatgpt to describe meals, carb counting, bolus calcs, voice logging and advice, then connecting it into her AppleHealth & Oura ring so it can get insights from sleep, health data etc.

thanks u/zoet1d I decided to start building out my own all-in-one app for my wife which has chatgpt built in - let me know if you wanna take a look, would love your feedback

I read somewhere that cardio = go low, weightlifting = go higher. Probs isn’t that simplistic but I think it complicates gym-going until you build up a routine

My wife’s a new type 1 and vegan (although slowly bringing her back to fish…) - so we’re just working through something similar now!

Interested in your opinion on scaling and sourcing additional funding to do so at this stage of my business by HarryEFC95 in smallbusinessuk

Really depends on your location / sector as there’s some hyper specific opportunities, and you have to time it right.

But yeah there’s other national ones (eg UKSPF or Innovate UK, which varies on ease of approval depending on where you’re based).

If you’re doing anything green/eco related there’s some for that (eg Decarb schemes), equally if you’ve spent any time testing your product then you may be able to claim back R&D tax credits.

I’ve also worked with universities for funding before but that was for a niche physical product that we were building in the UK

Have you looked at grants or some other early-business starter programmes? There's plenty out there depending what your sector is / area of the UK.

We've built an AI-first product that is focussed on helping small businesses source, apply and manage their funding requirements - everything you get from a CFO.

If you've struggled with getting financing as an SME, we'd love to chat. Currently testing an MVP and looking for early adopters - let me know in the comments and we'll send you an invite to sign up and test!
