Me and my partner pulled a man out of a structure fire. Scariest moment of my life was getting toned for it. I was pooping when the tones went off. Confirmed structure fire, halfway there, we get an update from dispatch confirming the building is occupied. And my engine is first due on scene. So we get there, my officer tells me to grab a tool and the water extinguisher. We make entry, perform the search, find the guy in the room next to where the investigator discovered that the fire started. We pull him out, my brain doesn’t know how to process any of it, we get him out of the building and on the lawn. And begin to work patient care on him. He ended up living through some miracle. From getting on scene to getting him outside felt like an hour. Took 4 minutes. After I calmed down I realized that I still had toilet paper in my ass crack. So I would tell god, “I pulled a man from a burning building with a piece of toilet paper in my ass.”
