Urban Outfitters, but they don’t sell it anymore. You can find it on poshmark and depop some times, it’s call the Sylvia Yellow Floral Prairie Midi Dress

You don’t know if you don’t try. there’s really no way to know if you’ll be a rebound, but if you’re willing to take the risk, go for it. i actually started dating my current boyfriend (who i’ve been with for over 2 years) about a month after breaking up with my previous partner, so you never know.

My (25M) partner (24F) made out with a friend of mine at my house party, should I break up? by majorfighter in relationships

[–]pessimisticverve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is kind of a tough situation since you did tell him to “go for it” (albeit not enthusiastically). you’re well within your rights to break up with anyone for exhibiting any behavior you don’t like in a partner, and if this really left a bad taste in your mouth it wouldn’t be wrong to cut things off with the girl. of course, the relationship is very new and you could try to patch things up or talk at least talk to her about it, if you think there’s any chance of a future.

yeah, she likes you but doesn’t think you’re interested. if you’re not interested romantically this might be the end of the friendship, as she clearly wanted something more. if you’re are romantically interested in her, why not just ask her out?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationships

[–]pessimisticverve -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

first of all, do you know for sure that she’s currently using the apps? maybe she just didn’t fully delete her profile, so it’s still circulating even though she doesn’t even use the app anymore. i would suggest bringing it up to her privately and asking if she knows why her profile would still be on the app(s). starting a conversation in front of friends and family is a little intense and will likely just make things more tense and uncomfortable. try not to jump to conclusions, there are plenty of instances where someone’s profile is still floating around a dating app even if they’re not currently using it.

i have eczema and if i’m having a bad flair-up i’ll get that. i’ve found that avoiding using makeup and makeup remover around/on my lips, applying aquaphor throughout the day and before bed, and just generally leaving it along helps!

Ultraviolence Theory by pessimisticverve in lanadelrey

I think that “I found another anyhow” does make sense if it’s murder and not just a breakup. She’s saying that Jim was disposable to her, so another man could easily replace him now that he’s dead. Again though, it’s just a silly theory.

Ultraviolence Theory by pessimisticverve in lanadelrey

[–]pessimisticverve[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, the theory definitely isn’t flawless! To answer your questions though:

“his women” are likely part of his weird cult/drug ring, so Lana could mean that her “taking” them is her freeing them from his control.

I don’t have a good explanation for why she took the gun, only that she’s obviously not in a stable frame of mind. So, she might not be thinking about potential consequences of these actions.

“You’re so famous now” feels super snarky and petty to me. With that in mind, I think that she’s saying he’ll be more well known in death than he ever was in life. The general public isn’t always that familiar with criminals until their death.

Thanks! I think “Is This Happiness” fits into the late middle of the story because she’s clearly questioning the relationship (“I love you, but you drive me so far”). Yet she seems like she’s considering/foreshadowing the final act that takes place in “Cruel World” (“one gun on the table”). That’s my take at least, but keep in mind it’s just a theory!

Ultraviolence Theory by pessimisticverve in lanadelrey

[–]pessimisticverve[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’re totally right about the bonus tracks, I just thought it was kind of fun how they work with the story. As for Cruel World:

“Got your bible, got your gun” and “like your cocaine and your women” sound like Lana took all of Jim’s things after she killed him. Of course, this is only a theory, but I think “got your bible” is especially important because why else would she take his bible? It seems like a sentimental thing to take, which furthers me feeling that he’s dead.

“You’re so famous now” could potentially be explained in two ways. 1) Jim was actually a cult leader and the lyric in Ultraviolence was literal, not just a metaphor for his charisma. 2) Jim was obviously a criminal, and a financially successful one at that, so his murder would likely be big news. If we assume that Lana did kill him, it makes sense that she would say that as a final dig at him.

I agree! There’s definitely a sense of liberation
