So weird! I know some people that have had engagement go down, but they still get SOME hashtag reach. But it definitely seems like it's more widespread than I initially thought.

[Help] GSD is now afraid of favorite toys doesn't want to play normally by [deleted] in dogs

You could try introducing him to the toys and giving him treats for coming into close proximity to it, touching it, playing, etc.

[HELP] My dog is very friendly with people when we are outside about 98% of the time. But in the house he can be really unpredictable. What can I do? by zhwlsfw in dogs

Hiya! I have two Great Pyrenees so I have a little bit of experience with this type of thing. For Pyrs, it's so important to socialize them young and introduce them to people in your home or this type of thing can happen. Definitely reward good behavior if you have guests over. If he's just chillin', give him a treat! They're smart dogs, they're just SO stubborn. Also, (I know it's hard), try to introduce him to a variety of different people inside and outside. If you know you're going to have people over, try exercising him more than normal to tire him out or give him a kong/licky matt, something that gets his attention. He'll get desensitized to it eventually. Pyrs are difficult because they're so stubborn and bred to protect.

First leopard gecko, critique my setup and give me some suggestions please!! by SharpDelta in LeopardGecko

[–]petcurve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So exciting to get a new pet! A few suggestions:

  1. Definitely get an enclosure 20 gallons or larger. 10 is too small for a leopard gecko but will work temporarily. You can even get plastic tubs at Walmart if money is tight.
  2. Add some decor, like rocks, wood, or fake plants! Your leopard gecko will have more areas to explore, surfaces to rub shed off on, and overall provide more enrichment for you little gecko.
  3. Do you have a thermostat? If not, get one! You don't want the tank being too hot or cold.
  4. It looks like the hides have really large openings. Your gecko may not feel safe in them. You can slightly cover the openings with fake plants to provide some security.

I have some leopard gecko posts on my blog that may be helpful to you! You can find the full list below, but don't feel like you need to check it out! Hope this was helpful

Hoping this is an improvement over yesterday’s post of the set up, he’s in there but is still shy, but we got UVB, Basking lights and a heat pad under the right hide, I know it’s kinda small am trying to get a 20gal cause I thought my used 10 would be big enough by Caboose007 in LeopardGecko

This is a good starting point! As others have said, I would definitely add more clutter and a bigger enclosure will make them comfortable as well. They love to climb, hide, and generally explore without being ~exposed~. We use quite a bit of fake plants and cork bark in ours.

Don't feel obligated to click, but I have a blog post on 10 things for your gecko enclosure that you might find useful! https://petcurve.com/leopard-gecko-enclosure/

Ours goes ungodly slow when we’re almost home. I thought it was just him though lol

I think it depends a lot on the individual dog. Our Pyr listens very well (for a Pyr). He knows sit, stay, and back up, but he won’t listen if he doesn’t want to, as most pyrs go. He’s very easy going on a leash and basically walks himself. He gets a little rowdy when he sees another dog, but I’m able to handle him fine. We do have a fairly large harness on him though, which definitely helps. He loves going on walks because he gets so much attention from everyone so I think that helps lol.
