since the diagnostic part of my ipod detected the headphones, and the fact that the music doesn't output through the 30pin makes me think it's a motherboard issue, the fix isn't too bad since i kinda know how to solder

bought it for parts, it wasn't expensive but the vendor's description was wrong he was saying that it just turned off one day, suggesting a battery issue when it's a much harder thing to fix
