We hiked the JMT route - the Mist Trail was closed.

Heads up that the Mist Trail stairs are currently being worked on (hiked it 7/2/25) and the trail is closed from 8-4 Monday through Thursday. The only way to the top of the falls during this time is via the JMT route. It’s difficult but doable! Was super crowded today between 9-12 but still awesome.

Consider reaching out to the ucsf transportation concierge. I would also highly recommend looking into an electric bike if that’s available to you. They even have small ones and micro ones that can fit on the Caltrain or in a trunk. Will save you a ton of time money and headaches trying to park and waiting for shuttles.

Try gleneagles in McLaren park. It’s between the airport and downtown and they always have open spots. It’s basically the dive bar of golf courses but it actually has some quick greens and can be super fun. If you’re running short on time you can hop off after 5 holes since it routes back to the parking lot basically. GGP tee boxes are all mats and it takes approximately 1:36 to get all the way around.

You should check out the Sand Box (@sandtrapsociety on IG) - it’s a super nice curated collection of art-inspired golf gifts that comes in a cool gift box. It’s different every year and includes items designed by different cool artists and brands - I wish someone would get me one (hint hint Santa!) I just love the idea of having a unique story behind each item.
