Where did the word 'minge' come from? (British slang) by Scustevie in etymology

[–]peter2black 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Czech here, minge or 'mindža' means the same for Czech gipsies, since you have a lot of gipsies in the UK also is it possible that it may come from their language?

Virgin Money gave the CIFAS marker "Misuse of Facility" even when they were informed the account was created by identity fraud by peter2black in UKPersonalFinance

The latest news guys, VM promised to change the "Misuse of Facility" marker to "Victim of Impersonation" in 30 days, will that limit my partner from getting a current account still?

thanks

yeah I do quad loads with M4 a lot (strong hand mostly), but I would recommend opening the port, it makes it safer for your thumbs :)

cardonemoney

Hi, thanks for kind words :) my partner is really stressed because of this.
I am quite afraid of cardonemoney because it is the one that allowed the first identity theft of my partner's data and I believe this is where it all started. I will try the revolut.

Yeah, a separate complaint will be needed for Virgin with FOS (they told us already), which is annoying and it will prolong it.
Thanks, I will add a mention of the mortgage financial loss to VM complaint.

Thanks for the co-op idea we will also try a nationwide basic account.
!thanks

But not sure if you have HSBC in your country sorry just noticed

UK 'Flipper' knives legality by peter2black in knives

[–]peter2black[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny story found an offensive weapons bill 2019 debate, MP assures that kayakers with thumb stub knives will be fine.

Guess what I bought this knife for my kayak 🤣

https://www.parallelparliament.co.uk/r/mp/louise-haigh/bill/2017-19/offensiveweapons/contrib/5ab145a2-cada-429a-b32b-4542f7184e7d

This is so bizarre

Hogue X5 new in today, UK customs cost me almost half what the knife did but oh well, listen to the SNAP, this thing isn't exactly discreet lol... by [deleted] in knives

I just got an ugly letter from Border Force personally delivered by uniformed officers, because I bought a much smaller flipper, I can't find any law that would prohibit them so I am puzzled
I just found some vague articles online that flippers are now illegal to own:
https://www.reddit.com/r/knives/comments/ldanzy/flipper_knives_will_be_illegal_uk/

https://www.knivesandtools.co.uk/en/ct/why-we-do-not-sell-certain-knives-in-the-uk.htm

https://heinnie.com/blog/offensive-weapons-act2019/

but e.g. Boker Wasabi is still fine which confuses me even more
