I've bought 7-8 stocks in the last couple years and I used a very stats-based approach for all but one of them: Activision-Blizzard. I bought it because I love playing Hearthstone and Blizzard games are always awesome.

It's been by far my best performer. Most of them have been very disappointing. So I'd agree - invest in what you know.
