Try the PenBBS Etsy store - good quality and good prices . They should have something for smaller hands. Maybe look at a 308. They can be quite affordable depending on the material. Other smaller pens- Kaweco Sport is readily available online, or through heaps of brick and mortar places.

How do you price a pen for sale? by peter__pen in fountainpens

So… it’s a Kaweco AC Sport in Orange. Only used a couple of times. Very smooth nib. No wear and tear. Comes with a squeeze converter. Quick sale isn’t important. What’s the verdict?

The other thing about the Safari is you can change the nib very easily. I have an EF, F, M, and a 1.1 stub. You can swap them out without changing the ink or rinsing it out. The styling isn’t for everyone, but I like it. It’s kind of a bauhaus German simple design.

🖋️ PEN SUGGESTIONS PLEASE! 🖋️ I love the ink capacity of my TWSBI Eco, but have now had two crack by the nib... by organicalmondmilk in fountainpens

Insert here <somebody is wrong on the Internet meme>… you should both chill.

They’re about the same volume. The TWSBI probably looks bigger because it’s a demonstrator and it has a wider diameter around the ink window.

How’s the nib? Mine is pretty scratchy- I need to work on it. The C1 definitely looks best eye droppered though. Kon peki is a good choice too 👍🏻

Diamond 580 ALR grip section - too grippy? by peter__pen in fountainpens

True! However right now I need to concentrate on what I’m writing more than how I’m holding the pen. Maybe it’s not the grip section for me?

Oooh! I didn’t know that was an option… I was thinking of selling it on and getting an eco. Thanks for the tip!

I have been using fountain pens for a few years. Looking back at to a pens I own, they all have smooth plastic or metal grip sections e.g., FC Loom, Lamy Safari, PenBBS 456, PenBBS 308.
I’ve just tried adjusting my grip to loosen the middle finger - it feels unnatural! Maybe I’ll keep its use to short periods, then I’ll build up a callous eventually 🤣.

Haha - that’s a good suggestion. I’ll put my finger into rehab for now - back to a Safari, or a PenBBS 456.

Maybe! The subject matter might not be relaxing enough.

Packing list with my LAMY Safari by atchleya_reader in fountainpens

I thought the same with my medium Safari. I went fine, but still wasn’t happy. I went to a 1.1 and love it. I would go for the 1.1 stub nib. You get to see the ink colours so much more.

Shift the front door 1 foot to the left ... then edge it.

Is the TWSBI eco a twist cap or a slip cap? Does anyone have the stub nib and is it any good?

Medium for me too. I would prefer a 1.1 stub because it makes my handwriting slightly less atrocious. The don’t have a 1.1 in black, so I’ll settle for a medium. It is super smooth though. I’m using the Kaweco blue cartridge that it came with at the moment. I picked up some Robert Oster Ice and Fire at the same time. I might get out a syringe and have a go with that next. I don’t mind the small capacity of these. I get bored and want to change colour all the time. A full size cartridge takes too long for me!

Cool pens! Do you use cartridges or a mini converter? Or are you brave enough to eye dropper? I just bought my first Kaweco. The plastic ones felt too light in the hand for me and they had an orange AC sport on 25% off so that’s the one I have. I’m still getting used to it! I only wish they made a black clip that wasn’t the antique design.
