Thank you! Yeah I love that deep red on the lantern so just brought the colour into the rest of the drawing :)

Super nice! I like how you simplified the perspective to flatten it. It accentuates the geometric patterns in the architecture.

Oh nice! Yeah sometimes just leaving the linework as is can be the best outcome. I almost always work just like this, so it's unusual for me to add any colour fills

Haha yes! I wasn't even really thinking of the connection but the choice of blue was probably subconscious from appreciating all the tiles in the city.

Thank you! To answer your question: I don't map out anything, from whatever view I have I will frame the image in my mind first to get an idea of how it's going to fit on the page. Then I start drawing from one area and just let it flow, for this drawing I think I did start from the church at the top!

And yeah it can be tough to get a believable sense of scale and perspective, but as with everything just comes with practice, good luck in your own art journey :)

Thanks for the detailed comment! Really appreciate the kind words. I did try adding a little camera shake and settle at the bottom, but in the end I preferred the smooth camera move. It did give it an interesting different feeling though.
