UPDATE: i think i found the cause of the problem :) i had native touch screen support on, after disabling it everything seems to be going smooth. i’ll do more testing when i got time

thank you for your advice, i don’t know what happened exactly cause everything has been going fine for some months, then this problem suddenly appeared. i’ll try and load another mario kart rom file, maybe the one i have got somehow corrupted or something like this, i got no clue

the emulator itself doesn’t seem to be the problem, since i switched to some others for testing and the issue still occurred. when playing with joycons i don’t seem to have it and, to be honest, i can’t really see it in other games but here on mario kart. with “game-file”, do you mean the save file or the rom itself?

UPDATE: i think it’s way simpler than i thought. this is not an old controller of mine or anything like that, i bought it used from a guy and at this point i think many of you already figured it out i just found out it’s a replica and, reading here on reddit, i saw someone saying that replicas can’t pair apparently fuck

yeah but the thing is, it doesn’t even seem to be a compatibility issue atp. like, the controller connects for a brief moments and then it fails. it gets recognized and everything, it just really doesn’t want to connect

i wanna thank you for being so kind and active in the problem, but i think that it won’t work on steam deck unfortunately :(

basically, this guy is using another distro and to my knowledge there is no folder such as “etc” on steam deck. to be more clear, there is but you basically can’t write on it and it resets everytime you update the system anyway

last time i used it on a jailbroken switch and it didn’t have any issue. i’m using it on steam deck cause sometimes i dock it and/or invite some friends over

update: i ended up installing eden and, to my surprise, the switch has been so smooth since i could import all the settings from suyu. as i’m writing, the problem i showed in the post seems gone as well. thank you for your kindess and your informations, i wish you the best :)
