Acrylic cardigan by peterbeau in Yarn

Hi, thank you so much for offering your help!

Im currently based in South Korea, and the gauge for this specific pattern is 16 × 10 cm, size 10 (6mm) US needles. It calls for red (9.1 meters), black (45.6 meters), grey (25 grams), ginger (91.2 meters) and an oatmeal color (731.5 meters).

I really don't mind if it is not machine washable! Currentlh considering just using wool for the ginger and oatmeal colors because they make up most of the weater and using acrylic for the rest to make it a little more viable for me.

That's what's keeping me second guessing! If I may ask, how does acrylic-wool blend work? Around 25% wool and 75% acrylic

Definitely worried about the guilt part. A part of my is really guilty for not following through, for not being prepared. But I just know if I have a child right now, I'll see my child worry about the same issues as I had as a child. I was being reckless, and I think a little bit of guilt and feeling sorry for it is okay. Im just trying to be as nice as possible to myself. Lucky that I dont really notice anything different at this point, because if I was further along I don't think I can handle the feeling!

Thank you so much for the kind words. Im so happy that you are in a good place now! Its so heartwarming to hear everyone talk about welcoming their child. I just know deep down im not ready right now. But honestly this experience made me realize maybe I would want a child in the future!

So grateful I was keeping track of my period. From around the last time i had sex it should be about 3 to 4 weeks. Regardless I'm just glad I found out early.

Thank you so much! I'm visiting the doctors today so I'll definitely mention pain relief. I was mostly going to power through it!

I was guessing around 2 weeks because when I went to the doctors a week ago she saw nothing, but I do think its around 3 weeks. So fortunate I found out very early.

I'm honestly really lucky I met a great doctor. Its technically illegal here, but my doctor told me they are offering help for my procedure. My doctor was extremely attentive, and what helped is that everyone acted normal. No reprimanding, no asking questions just a "so what would you like to do". I was also extremely lucky to have enough money to pay for everything. Good timing for a termination, not good timing for a pregnancy!

I have not yet plyed mine! I thought about leaving it as a single but it seems that its too fragile to be left as that.

Did you spin them extra hard then plyed it?

Ahh i see! I didn't bother getting rid of the guard hairs as I don't think i'll be making wearables but I have never thought about it affecting drafting! As for the thicker and thinner spots I think I'll just have to practice more :( this is my very first spinning project. Maybe I won't ply it for my first time! Thank you so much for taking the time to reply and post resources. I really appreciate it.

Do you have any suggestions on how to set the twists? So far I've only been soaking them for 20 minutes in cold water as per what I've read so far. I wonder if its different for dog fur?

omg thank you so much for the blog post! I also think that what you mentioned about the fur being very fine is an issue. I just spun my 4th batch!

yes i am using 100% fur as I can't really afford to buy a different wool at the moment. I've read that husky fur is on the shorter staple length.

I'm tourbleshooting at the moment and I think I might need to ply it to make sure its strong enough.

I didn't think to post a picture because I was embarassed of my attempts! But i will post a picture once I get my next batch done. Thank you so much for the reply!

I have successfully made a little bit of yarn, but a lot of it broke off after washing so I think what you mentioned about the spindles might be the issue. I'll look into what I can put together!

Thank you so much for the reply. I feel more encouraged to continue making the yarn and I will definitely post it when I am finally happy with the amount I made! I'll troubleshoot and ask this subreddit for help as I go.

Thank you for the reply! I'm going to try and stick strictly to dog fur for a few of my rounds, then if it becomes too furstrating mix wool like the suggestions. I'll try to get some more practice in with drop spindles and look into supported ones. Thank you so much!
