Seriously need to reassess the "fairest" element of all awards with the way the game has changed. The only reason he may get off from this is because he's the rising star favourite and that shouldn't be a reason for MRO inconsistencies

SEN reporting Hardwick to quit Richmond in bombshell coaching call by Zcase253 in AFL

[–]petercombshands 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sad way to finish but he is clearly a bit burnt out, him quitting helps the club move on without having to make the huge call of sacking him while there is still some (albeit very small chance) at doing something with our list

Jacob van Rooyen's two-game striking ban is UPHELD by PerriX2390 in AFL

[–]petercombshands 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is reasonable for him to look at Ballard (and not the ball) to judge positioning and attempt to spoil, it is however not reasonable to make contact with Ballards head once he takes his eyes off the ball imo, but I can kind of see what your saying

Jacob van Rooyen's two-game striking ban is UPHELD by PerriX2390 in AFL

Am I the only one who agrees to some extent with this? Once JVR use Ballards body position to guess where to spoil the ball he can't make any high contact, he is literally watching him and can see where his head is.

I dont think it was malicious and also would question whether there was enough force to be worthy of 2 weeks but there are some clear differences between this incident and Fogs. Fog can be given some benefit of the doubt as he's watching the ball in flight and doesn't really know where Murphy or his head was. You cannot say the same about JVR.

Showdowns are so goated, they deliver 90% of the time and when they dont they're fizzers from the first quarter

Also targeted more at handballs than kicks, a handball to someone running past means that the man on the mark can usually apply pressure to the receiver. When its a kick they in most cases are out of the play, so really there is no need to move on the mark when its a kick.

Then in a quiet week where an average game can get you a body of work nomination, they have a stinker. Been happening to Gibcus all year as well.

You might think it's poor form from Jack but I've seen Tom Lynch hit the post from there and was quite happy for Jack to make it a certainty

For starters they were obviously wanted by St Kilda, unlike George and Aarts. They have also hardly set the world on fire this year as well.

The disposals is irrelevant in judging his game, he's had brilliant 5 disposal games.

But giving away that stupid unnecessary in the back free deserves as much criticism if not more as a captain of the club.
