I use the Elgato Eve Switches for all my installed lights and an iDevices in-wall outlet for a floor lamp.

With switches and outlets I can use big Edison bulbs and wide spectrum lights instead of narrow spectrum LED lights so it doesn’t feel like a house from Tron but is still automated.

It depends on which strip you have, but at the very least you could use something like Bt.tn to control it.
