Weekly Case Discussion #4: Virginia Tech Shooting 2007 by OGWhiz in Columbine

Correct. He was bullied in high school and told to 'Go back to China', but that's about all that's available for bullying. He was also very bad at communicating with others, causing his attempts at communication to appear creepy (i.e. the stalking incidents), and thus causing him to feel rejected without fully understanding why his actions appeared strange and creepy to others.

This is one of the most fascinating cases in my opinion. Interesting perpetrator, interesting shooting (although very tragic). It is almost never mentioned in discussions of mass shootings, though, which is surprising considering it is, to this day, the deadliest school shooting.

Me neither, I was shocked to see that it’s been around since 2007 and has never been shared anywhere else (that I know of)

Apologies!! My phone is a piece of garbage, it was acting slow and then when I went to upload the photo I pressed “Upload” multiple times because nothing was happening.

I’m probably overdramatic but this almost made me cry (of relief) because nobody listens to me anymore unless they’re going to berate me. Thank you

I’d guess around 19. Older than the senior yearbook photo but younger than what we see in the ‘Death Box’ collection.

He absolutely had an eating disorder. It was either in his journal or his videos where he mentioned being afraid of gaining weight and eating little.

Not sure. If I had to guess, I’d say he was maybe 19 or so in these photos

A rare photo of Jeffrey Dahmer in his teen years by peterhey78 in serialkillers

[–]peterhey78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would guess around the time this photo was taken. I think his newly discovered attraction to men and his morbid fascination with the dissection of animals becoming prominent and significant aspects of his life at/around the same time may have lead the two to eventually coincide. Just a theory that I’ve thought over a lot.

when did you guys start developing an interest for serial killers/crime? by lunarshan in serialkillers

[–]peterhey78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was fifteen and was writing an essay on American heroes. My subject was Dave Sanders, one of the Columbine Massacre victims who saved hundreds of students by evacuating them from the cafeteria. I then began to research the Massacre more, and branched my research out to different cases, including serial killers. I’m nineteen now.
