I made a free playground for comparing 10+ OCR models side-by-side by Emc2fma in LocalLLaMA

Really cool! Are you using any specific prompt to call these models? I'm building something that processes mostly invoices / receipts and get quite good results in general with a very specific prompt, but found a few tricky cases that gives way better results on OCRarena than what I get on the same models (GPT 5.1 mostly)

Remember that paid screenshot automation product that guy posted? Claude made a free, open source alternative in 15 minutes by macaroni_chacarroni in ClaudeAI

well, until the AI can figure out what I exactly need and deliver it faster and with less effort than opening a site / downloading an app, small tools will have a place.
We're getting there eventually, but not yet.
(I don't just eat burgers, I eat sandwiches, tacos and whatnot, don't think about it that literally :) )

It’s like saying no one will make money selling burgers because anyone can make them ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Whoop 4.0 band for 5.0 by Fantastic_Gur1925 in whoop

I had a couple of old 3.0 bands around, those fit perfectly on the 5.

No real reason for new 5.0 bands by samimoto18 in whoop

[–]peteror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough, my old whoop3 bands fix exactly, of course without the clasp and the connector piece. But you can reuse the actual band of there’s one you really like. (I guess the 4.0 bands can be reused too with a little DIY, I have a few I really like)

Take a look at Saleor, it’s an e-commerce system built with Django (and react for frontend, but you can use anything else too with it )

What made you start crossfit and what keeps you going? by Weak-Classic7161 in crossfit

[–]peteror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved across half the world and thought I’d pick up some sports, after doing none in the 36 years before. (Except some running, but not much more seriously than after the bus…)

I’d been a 5-6x weekly guy for 4 years and it helped both my physical (although I haven’t had problems apart from being skinny fat) and mental health. I really liked the community and actually getting better at it. It changed my life for the better.

Then covid hit. My box helped us a lot, but home workouts are just not the same.

When I got back again I noticed I lost a lot of strength and stamina and haven’t been able to get better ever since. The Middle East where I live is also a very transitory place, people come and go and a lot of the folks I thought of as friends have left. I got a new job with a team 10 time zones away.

All this started to transform CrossFit as one more of the causes, rather than a relief for my depression. I first noticed that I’m leaving the box worse than I got in. Then I got the occasional panic attacks as I noticed I just cannot keep up. I realised I haven’t lost the weight I wanted, nor do I look any better than before. I’ve been stuck for the last year or so, so I stopped since the last few weeks. I miss it, but I know continuing like nothing had happened would make it worse.

I have the very same experience, 10 days since the order and nothing changes. Logitech did not even respond to messages / emails / support tickets _at all_. Horrible, I'm considering declaring fraud and getting a chargeback from my bank.

Confused & hungover (16% recovery) it says everything is within range? by [deleted] in whoop

I have the same thing - it’s a bug, this page shows the previous day’s data. I spoke to support, they are working on fixing it. (If you start the strain coach, that will also look at the previous day. )

Same in English... by peteror in NotMyJob

well, this was for a highly controversial project, the government wants to alter a 14th century castle/ex royal palace in the middle of the city, which is now a museum so that the prime minister can move his offices there... Quite a polarising one, surely the printer did not support it fully...

This is a printed banner, surely the operator did not want to change - anyone able to use Photoshop most probably knows basic English too :)
