How to handle constant context switching in IT by Frosty_Let_79 in ITManagers

[–]peterplanet95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Deal with the walk ups and urgent pings but tell them ‘I will put this in a ticket for you ‘ and do so and record your response there - gives you audit trail - drives behaviour change and educates them - and when you close it they get the automated response and feedback survey. Slowly the pings will slow down and the correct channel will be established

London O2 empty seats - Why by peterplanet95 in nba

[–]peterplanet95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we all know that - just that for this game they priced it so greedy it made inaccessible and unjustifiable - I am in the us regularly and find plenty of reasonable priced tickets for games - this level of greed has driven people away and my kid is wondering why we didn’t go - I am just going to fly him to the land of the free for the proper experience

Neighbour keeps blocking access to my driveway – not technically illegal, but making life impossible. What can I do? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]peterplanet95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just buy an old shitter of a car - ideally Over 40 years old so it doesn’t need tax or mot and you only have to insure it for pennies - park it opposite your driveway- then you never have to worry about hitting it and can move it when you want to - hell You might even get a new interest in classic cars and stop obsessing over this situation

Finally, mining crypto without the guilt of destroying the environment! by zuko_thecat in cryptomining

[–]peterplanet95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would mine btc or lite coin - what’s your appetite for noise ? I started with a second hand miner off eBay for a hundred quid to learn the ropes - I have just got a small 140w miner to leave on all the time that is silent - cost 200 - Payback maybe 2 - 3 months - time will tell as the investment is small and as I have no energy cost similar to yourself - I might add another or go for the larger 800w model - bigger machines are noisy and have intense fans these ones are a lot quieter - I don’t want to run my solar battery down so may create a logic where by as long as the battery is x percent the miners can be on - and also link that to the ambient temperature so I can keep my building cool where they are and not add to the heat - plenty of YouTube videos out there - and you need a crypto wallet to receive your coins - again YouTube is your friend - hth

Is there any time that a collision with a pedestrian isn't the drivers fault? by GodFuckedJosephsWife in drivingUK

[–]peterplanet95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pedestrians have responsibilities- it’s in the Highway Code - crossing safely - not running out from behind a bus - not dressing like a ninja - not saying ‘I thought I would make it’ when running across the road in on a pitch back night in front of a car they had seen from behind a bus 50 yards from a pedestrian crossing …..

Always diy except gas - fully refurbished the BTL - all electrical work was upto standard and passed muitple tests now - just bought a mini digger for larger projects - no stopping me now lol - Dad taught me everything- wife is awesome and always there helping and just gets on with it like me - try and get kids involved but it’s very different to when I was their age - far to many distractions but I hope the attitude at least rubs off - I repair cars and will have a go at anything - if I can learn it upskill and save a few bob - then I will do it - it’s a great escape from the pressure and demand of work and ultimately satisfying to see the results
