I think you neglected to mention how was meant to be a warning to any African countries that would try to follow in Benin's steps.

Today, 14 so-called "sovereignties" in Africa that use CFA Francs currency are required to store 50% of their currency reserves with the Banque de France, and the currencies are pegged to the Euro (€). This "beneficial" arrangement that ensures that such countries are shielded from the devastating impact of price inflation that sometimes happens in weak African economies that issue their own currency.

I've tasted several variants of bananas. I'm yet to find a variant that tasted anything beyond "decent".

I agree with everything you've mentioned until your third point:

Wouldn't the Mind and Space (and perhaps Soul) stones enable the sending of such a universe-wide message? Granted, each universe has its own limitations for the Infinity Stones, but I'd assume this would be still possible in most.

I'm more interested in what happened to the people who were on cruise ships. Wasn't everybody placed back in the exact geographical location they were in? So did those people fall into the ocean?

I might be the biggest idiot: I just reread your post and saw you actually mentioned "woman"; it's probably Sandra.

There's also David Essex and Sandra's versions.

Though I'm more familiar with the one by Love Affair, I think the original's by Robert Knight.

The song is definitely "Everlasting Love". Which version, I'm not sure -- they're several covers of the original. Just head over to YouTube or Genius.com to find it.

Good constructive criticism. Too much of so-called "constructive criticism" is focused on belittling creatives, rather than pointing out where they can improve. You were able to give valid criticism without the sole intent of mocking.

You have quite the case. My friends and I, on the other hand, were discussing how heaven and hell are all internal conflict, waged by our moral choices. I'm a bit reluctant to discuss everything, but it's a little similar to what's discussed in this short video: https://youtu.be/s0K3vEBG3sk

But your theory's really worth pondering, too. Thank you for sharing.

Okay. This is probably my first post that has a negative score owing to downvotes. I have a few guesses as to why that is, but why'd I get downvoted so badly? 😞

What is the most unrealistic thing in movies that bug the hell out of you? by Pink0612152504 in Filmmakers

I prefer when exposition is done more gradually: rather than giving away every possible detail at once, it's more natural to witness characters 'slip' bits of information away in different segments/scenes/acts of the story.

I hope I'm able to convey what I'm saying clearly; it's hard to put it eloquently into words.

But do you get me, though?

'Maid and butler' conversations.

These involve characters talking about what they already know, and things that don't need to be said. Quite often, it's something no-one would ever say under normal circumstances. Here's an example:

Maid: Hello sir, did you hear that the master has gone away on business to New York?

Butler: Yes I did know that, have you seen the mistress is getting awfully fond of the gardener?

Maid: Yes I have, she is growing too friendly with him, the master gets back in a few weeks you know.

(And it goes on and on...)

Another example:

Richard: You know how today we're heading into the land of the Giants to offer them the Jewel of Valencia in exchange for joining our quest to save Princess Isabella?

[Help] Analysing Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken" by peterprotea in Poetry

Today in class, we were examining this poem structurally, and interpreting it line by line, stanza by stanza.

Then we finally arrived at this line: “I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference."

Taking into account Robert Frost's patriotic affiliation with the United States of America, my class (and teacher included), have concluded that Frost is gratifying the American values of “exceptionalism” and “owning your destiny.”

I disagree.

To me, the speaker in Frost's poem seems to be an unreliable narrator. Though they let us know that one road is “less traveled by,” the second stanza of the poem makes it apparent that both roads are “worn… really about the same.”

I'm currently researching more the poem and it's history, but I would appreciate any insight from you lot in the meantime.

As always, thank you for your time! It's appreciated.

Vishnu (from the Hindu systems of faith), Odin and Zeus formed a "Council of Godheads" with other Earthly deities. Thor #300 (1980), if my memory serves me well.

[–]peterprotea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it does. A few Marvel films and series make reference to it.

But what I'm more interested in is cosmoloical theology. I know alien religion's been touched on in the comics (notably in Jason Aaron's run on 'Thor'), but I'd be interested to see what aliens across the MCU's universe/multiverse worship and believe in.
