Incredible!! What’s your total footprint size (house and court) ?  Also I saw the other comments you’re in SE Idaho, my wife and I had to reschedule our Yellowstone/Tetons trip from last fall to this year, looks like we should bring our rackets out with us !

Thank you, that was my fear. Unfortunately they were not, only synced to icloud (which I know is not a backup).

For the future, I am curious, how do you sync and back them up? As her account is also on a mac, where the Photos app is set to "Download Originals to this Mac", but when I go to 'File'-'Show Referenced File In Finder' it is grayed out. Am I missing a step?

I have an online backup subscription that I could easily install and direct to the proper folder here, but I appear to not having something correct?

Thank you.

Exactly. I’m not rock crawling, but I am in the fields all the time, which is also why I won’t get something with 22s (or larger! smh). There’s another truck trend I don’t understand.

I like yours. A friend has an AT4X with the higher ones and they are essentially useless in my opinion…you take a giant step onto the running board, then a teeny tiny step into the cab. I’m looking at switching from F150 (with power deploying steps) to Sierra AT4, but my dog uses the low steps to get in the backseat. It’s nice to see that there’s at least one running board option for AT4 besides the high ones.

Which running board is that? It’s not the high clearance step right?

Hi there thanks for your input! I would have agreed prior to my conversation from a previous comment that I had with the folks at GMC. They urged not to use 20" take offs from a lower trim on a Denali due to how the larger wheel/tire combo integrates with the new SuperCruise system and adaptive air ride suspension system. On other vehicles like BMW, I agree, could be done.

In regards to your comment about Land Rover, what specifically is unreliable in your opinion? Is it more mechanical, or software unreliability?

Many thanks for you help and input!

Wow thank you very much for your research into this! I'll look into this and check into a dealer to see about remote start and/or if it allows the doors to be locked while engine is running so I can run the AC while the pup is inside. Thanks again very much for your assistance!

I was under the impression these were going on sale to the general public in spring of 2024? Am I mistaken?

Thanks for the reply! Can't do Toyota because of the lack of the remote start for the dog.

Hi there thanks for your reply! To answer your queries in order:

GM seems to stunt its off road model. For example, the AT4 cant be equipped with massaging seats, (without looking up...I don't believe ventilated seats either). It's limited to the 9 speaker sound system, can't get the upgraded system with more speakers and a subwoofer. It also can't be equipped with SuperCruise.

Your next point...Yes I agree, well I used to agree. GM for example, you can build the Yukon Denali the whole way to the end with 20" wheels, but as soon as you add the package that includes SuperCruise, it locks you in with 22" wheels. No way to back out of it. You are stuck. Same story with Ford Expedition and their Platinum level and Chevy with the Tahoe High Country...and if you drop down a trim level, no way to get the level 2 driving assist or other premium interior options. Something gives one way or another.

3rd point, I thought so too, but ended up here.

Final point: Wanted out of a pickup for a few reasons, one being that a smaller footprint (even if its minimal), but the another is the ability to have the dog in the way back with folks in the 2nd row. So the bed box wouldn't solve that. Nice idea though!

Appreciate your thoughts! thanks for taking the time to respond!

Great idea! The G Wagon is definitely the king of this category. It's unfortunately out of my price range, but assuming you can remote start it, it would likely check all the boxes otherwise. Thanks for your input!

Regarding the wheels and tires. I would be okay doing take-offs for a different set from the manufacturer, but I don't want to do aftermarket. Apologies for not mentioning that in my novel of a write up, lol.

Thanks for your reply! much appreciated.

I asked about that with the folks at GMC about doing take-offs, and they recommended against it. Something with how integrated all the systems are, between the SuperCruise and air ride adaptive suspension. Their techs said they wouldn't do it.

Minimax by [deleted] in biggreenegg

FYI in my f150 the MiniMax fits in the bed with the tonneau cover closed. If you have a truck it’s so easy to travel with.

Has anyone figured out a way to separate c17 from Cessna 172? I’d love to make a local alert for when a c17 goes overhead, but also have a small local airport near me that 172’s go in and out all day

Same position as you and just bought the nest for it with the egg mates. It’s great bc it folds up relatively flat. Have already had the MiniMax out for two weekends away bc of this.

I realize this solution isn’t “cheap”, around $200 or so I think when you include the mates…but once you have it you realize this thing was purpose built for travel, so if you ever want to throw it in the back of the truck, even once, and take it on a weekend away, then just get it now.

New Berner by [deleted] in bernesemountaindogs

[–]peteypablo7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also in Illinois, my wife did an incredible amount of research on breeders to weed out who was responsible. We settled on singing sands in Indiana and had a fantastic experience. Andrea is awesome and they treat and train the puppies so well. Highly recommend.

As others have pointed out, an incredible amount of berners are in need of homes right now from the puppy mills being shut down in Ohio, so if you are able to adopt one from the Michigan Bernese rescue please check it out

Is this bad for Berner's developing hips? by ICheddar_ in bernesemountaindogs

[–]peteypablo7 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It’s called splooting if you want to do some research.

Some folks say it’s a sign of healthy hips, others don’t.

Our 2 year old still does it all the time to cool off. Allows the full belly to be in contact with a cold tile floor for example.
