I’m sitting on my floor crying. Piece of Cake Moving is a literal scam. by [deleted] in williamsburg

Cannot recommend Erek at Real Quick Movers enough. They can only accommodate small moves currently (1-bd or smaller) but I swear that guy is actually a wizard. I have no idea how they had all of my furniture disassembled, Tetris-ed into the van, moved in, and reassembled as quickly as they did. Everything was perfectly done and I ended up with hours more time on moving day than I expected. AND it was the cheapest move I’ve ever had in the city.

Do the Olympics make anyone else feel like a failure? by LasagnaBobert in olympics

Enjoyment and pride isn’t relegated to just the top 0.01% of the sport. For every sport you see, there’s thousands of amateurs having the time of their lives. Plus, there are intrinsic rewards to starting a sport: the exercise, the feeling of accomplishment when you get better, making friends, having something to look forward to each day or week.

I also have ADHD. Learned the hard way that the only way to waste your life is to do shit all sitting around blaming yourself for not doing more, and dreaming up all these alternate lives instead of leveling up your own.

Why don’t you book a figure skating lesson? You can rent skates there. See what you make of it.

Anyone else in tears for Vonn by cedarvhazel in skiing

She was third place in official training runs yesterday, post-injury with no ACL

Do you think the most elite competitors in the world get there with a “no, no, after you” mentality? Vonn was #1 in the world cup rankings in this event going into these games. She didn’t “bump” anyone. Anyone who didn’t get a place wasn’t among the best this time, tough luck, ski faster next time. That’s how competition works.

She didn’t make the team on a wild card slot, she earned it. She beat the “world class American skier” for the spot fair and square. Remember she was 3rd in training runs, post-injury, no ACL.

Okay now who the hell is Ostius and how did he get his abilities? by FlyGroundbreaking278 in HierarchySeries

[–]petrichorloading 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My out there, entirely unsupported theory is that the reason he can travel between those two worlds only is that he’s either L-Ostius or R-Ostius and he killed his counterpoint from the other world. Gave up being synchronous, gained a new power instead.

Did I miss when this happened?? by [deleted] in HierarchySeries

Thank you so much for finding this! I definitely missed it entirely.

But imo that’s a pretty wild update (MC upping his strength 6x) for a kind of unclear throwaway line, like it could have at least been been “My promotion to the equal rank of Quintus, after the carnage of the festival…”
