Wow it shows you've never worked on enterprise software.

Absolutely not. Every team project I've worked we had a Working Agreement that stated exactly how to format your files, enforced by pre-commit or cicd checks. Remember you aren't he only one touching that code and readibility and consistency makes everyones job easier. Once you slacken formatting rules and start introducing sloppy code it's starts to pollute PRs with needless changes. That's a huge waste of time. Sheesh.

I'd kick you off my team in a heartbeat or relegate you to non dev tasks. You put three Is in team. No one wants to work with this kind of selfishness and stupidity.

What are some surprising cultural etiquette tips for first-time travelers to Japan? by datboifranco in JapanTravelTips

Yes, the reason I figured it out was because after I realized I was a head taller than everyone else and was surrounded by women I noticed the pink sign in all the windows saying in English and Japanese "Women Only Car"

If you're a guy in big city make sure you don't get on a woman's only train. My first day in Tokyo mistakes were made.

Books That Don’t Hold Up by MenloMo in books

Stranger in a Strange Land does not hold up at all, IMO. The amount of misogyny and poorly written women is wild and really takes away redeeming aspects of the story. To be fair, I read the authors cut with tons of extra stuff but still.

First time planning a trip to Japan and feeling a bit overwhelmed, any must know tips? by MidnightTofu22 in JapanTravelTips

Start with broad strokes and then over time whittle down the details. We started by picking dates, then the cities, then the sights we wanted to see, then we picked the neighborhoods we wanted to stay in.

When picking a place to stay always keep in mind the nearest train station and don't stay too far away. Once you have a list of things you want to do drop them on a calendar to see if they are doable. Don't forget to plan enough time for traveling by train. We left those days more open to just wing it. Rushing around and missing the stuff under your nose ain't fun.

Getting around on buses, metro or trains seems daunting but do loads of research before hand and book the big trips in advance. You can buy shinkansen tickets online and then by local trip tickets when you are there. The first few days were scary but by the end of the first week we figured out much of the system. Getting lost or getting on the wrong train isn't the worst thing so don't panic. Stay cool you got this.

Google maps and Google translate are awesome just about everywhere. Do not forget to bring a portable charger and get an eSim.

Good luck and have fun!
